Lots of media talk of #KyrstenSinema switching to independent, but little talk about how financially feasible a 2024 indie run will be. Sen. Mark Kelly spent more than $90M on his re-election & outside groups spent another $50M. Sinema presently has just $8M cash on hand
Today @CAinsider's @NikkiLaurenzo interviewed new CAGOP Senator Minority Leader @SenBrianJones, but did not ask about his primary endorsement of "buddy" Cordie Williams for US Senate. Four months earlier, Williams called for Americans to arm for civil war. https://t.co/lXKWdoSuF5
Party Democrats must admit two things about @RudySalasCA/@RepDavidValadao CA-22 race: 1.) Elected House Dems in safe seats sat on 10s of millions of dollars. 2.) Salas may not have deserved any help. Way too under-the-radar to beat an incumbent. Ducking 2 debates was outrageous
In @KevinKileyCA / @DrKermitJones CA-3 House race, Sacramento & Placer counties has released an additional 36,000 counted votes (mostly from Placer), but they increased Kiley's lead by about 5,000 votes. With about 80% now in, this race can be officially called for Kiley.
Not a surprise, presumptively elected Congressman @KevinKileyCA is promoting this conspiracy theory investigation of which 10 of 18 signatories are members of the House Freedom Caucus. Thank you @sacbee_news for poor coverage of Kiley's race against @DrKermitJones
Congress will investigate the Administration's "misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources to target concerned parents at school board meetings."
@DougOse Yes, with today's 10% reporting, Kiley lost just 0.2% from 4.8% edge. So no chance for Jones. Interesting, current margin is GOP registration advantage, which means independents basically split. You get the win!!! (Incidentally, Jones is doing better than Newsom in Placer by 2ยฝ)
Looks like Lauren Boebert won her Colorado House seat by 550 votes or so. There will be a recount, but usually recounts don't shift the numbers that dramatically. Four remaining races to be called: CA-3, CA-13, CA-22 and AK-At-large (though AK rank-choice seat looks solidly D).
With an extra 10% reporting in CA-3 Kiley-Jones race, Kiley lost just 0.2%. So it looks very unlikely Jones will make up the 4.6% he is behind with 30% left to count. Especially with so much coming from Placer.
Lauren Boebert-Adam Frisch House race in Colorado has narrowed to just 668 votes. Boebert is still up with the remaining overseas and "cured" ballots to be counted Friday.
No surprise here control of Congress came down to Calif. If nat'l Democrats did a self-review, it came down to two things in their control: 1.) The ridiculous NY gerrymander attempt & 2.) the >$200M House Democrats in safe seats sat on GOP outspent Dems on TV in final weeks.
@smithbarbv@DrKermitJones@KevinKiley It appears 9,300 remain out in Nevada Co. If the same Jones advantage holds for those votes, this will reduce Kiley's 8,900 vote lead by 1,500 votes her. He will need to make this up elsewhere โ largely in Placer and Sacramento County.
With Nevada County release of 9K more counted votes in CA-3 race, @DrKermitJones closed gap by 1800 votes with @KevinKiley to 4.6% with 59% counted. The big issue is most votes remaining are in Placer County. If Friday's update doesn't close gap, that will call it for Kiley.
โOur campaign got next-to-0 outside resources to fight this battle. In fact, I was fighting the institutional power of my own party from the outset of this race,โ said CA-7 Dem @ChristySmithCA. This includes >$70m unspent by Calif House Dems in safe seats. https://t.co/3OKOshdDiA
@THEBlGMISS@KevinKileyCA@DrKermitJones Here's another prediction from this site, which is not proving out. Kiley has advantage to win, but bizarre to predict this so early. https://t.co/7CecPVsxFV
'@KevinKileyCA claims his race has been called in his favor with 54% of vote in and up less than 6% over @DrKermitJones. His camp though isn't responding to info on his source. Not first California Republican to proclaim early victory.
@THEBlGMISS@KevinKileyCA@DrKermitJones Household name? Again 54% of vote is in. This site is not calling Mike Levin-Brain Maryott CA-49 race in which Levin has 4.6 point lead with 87% of vote in.
Iโm surprised Democrats are again pessimistic about winning back the House. So many votes out in a lot of California districts. Tuesday afternoon will add some extra clarity, but counting will go slow. #MidtermElections2022 https://t.co/X4OnqDicVo
A la Trump, @RepMikeGarcia prematurely declared victory in CA-27 House race last Wed. when initially up by 15 pts, but as vote continue to be counted, @ChristySmithCA creeps closer and closer. As of today, she is behind by 8.8 pts with 42% left to count. #Midterms2022results
