Allow me to state a general fact we should all be able to agree on: soldiers who die in combat as part of a war of aggression are not victims of terrorism.
Scoop: U.S. intelligence agencies are warning the Trump administration that Netanyahu is likely to take steps that will undermine Trump’s Iran deal as the Israeli leader faces intense political pressure to continue waging war in Lebanon 🧵
That Ben Gvir post that everyone is sharing aghast? It is a perfectly normal and common Israeli view, held by millions. It is the Israeli mainstream, and not extreme in the least. I grew up hearing that endlessly
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Lebanon:
The entire first line of Lebanese villages has been destroyed.
We are destroying all the houses. The residents will never see them standing before their eyes again.
This is not a joke:
Israel is saying Hezbollah is violating the ceasefire by firing against the advance of the Israeli occupation forces in Nabatiyeh district, south of Lebanon.
I agree.
But your (thankfully now defunct) TV channel for years attacked anyone who said Trump won't help. To court Trump, your movement literally called itself "MIGA" & abandoned every non Trumpist.
Now you remember that the answer wasn't in Washington?
Sure, cynicism is cool, but maybe we can appreciate that the American and Iranian Presidents have signed a document that commits their countries to "respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to refrain from interfering in each other's internal affairs."
Many of Iran's democratic forces and human rights activists will welcome the end of the war and moves toward normalization of economic ties with the United States.
You can't fight for democracy under economic siege or bombardment. Let the guns fall silent.
'In this World Cup’s great convergence of 48 nations, one is conspicuously not receiving the same treatment as the other 47.
'And however much Gianni Infantino might try to posture as the ultimate peacemaker, he must surely see that the longer this problem persists, the graver the implications will be for his tournament’s integrity.'

Iran v. New Zealand ended around 8pm here in Los Angeles.
At 10:07pm, Iran players were on a bus bound for the airport, where they'd fly back to Tijuana. World Cup organizers wouldn't let them stay and recover.
“Everything is like a disaster for us," Mehdi Taremi said.
Iran’s Ramin Rezaeian in mixed zone:
“It’s something political (his goal celebration). I don’t want to talk about that.”
“We are here to answer football questions.”
“If there is a problem between us (the Iranian people), it is between us.”
Fun game with quality at SoFi, finishing Iran 2-2 New Zealand.
But Iran head coach Amir Ghalenoei says his team are "most oppressed in World Cup".
"They said we have to leave immediately. We were supposed to stay until tomorrow lunchtime to recover."

This team had to overcome so many obstacles to arrive in Los Angeles. So many of these players were simply trying to survive a war few months back. They had to navigate a uniquely complicated geopolitical situation to even make it here. I am beyond proud of their resilience.
Most of the Iranian players are based in Iran which means most of the players have not even played football since February due to the war.
The management of Iran also dropped their best forward in Sardar Azmoun because of his politics.
The team is staying in Mexico despite playing all their games in the USA.
Contrary to their treatment by US authorities and FIFA, the New Zealand players and the ref appreciated Iranian players on their performance and were happy for them.
Half this Iran team hasn’t played football in 3 months because the country has been getting bombed and it’s very apparent
I dont know how this team could have been expected to perform under these circumstances
I will be rooting for Iran tonight, not out so much out of ethnic allegiance, but because "my" crown prince (a dude living in Potomac, Maryland) is telling me I'm not allowed to. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
