India's first fully indigenous 1.5T helium-free MRI scanner was unveiled on December 25, 2025.
VoxelGrids Innovations, a Bengaluru-based medtech startup founded by Arjun Arunachalam (ex-GE Global Research and IIT Bombay), has developed India's first fully indigenous 1.5T helium-free MRI scanner after ~12 years of R&D. Backed by Zoho Corporation and grants from BIRAC/Tata Trusts, the system uses a proprietary "dry magnet" conduction-cooled design, eliminating scarce/expensive liquid helium.
Key advantages: ~30-40% lower manufacturing and operational costs (priced around $400,000 vs. imported equivalents), reduced power consumption, lighter/compact footprint (suited for Indian infrastructure and unstable grids), and AI-enhanced imaging. It is not a copy of foreign systems but features bottom-up innovations in hardware, software, pulse sequences, and integration.
On December 25, 2025, the scanner was officially unveiled and deployed at Chandrapur Cancer Care Foundation near Nagpur, Maharashtra, where it became clinically operational, scanning real patients for cancer diagnostics. As of March 2026, it remains active in real-world use.
The Bengaluru facility has capacity for 20-25 units/year. A full commercial launch was targeted by end of FY26 (March 2026), with growing order interest from hospitals linked to Tata Trusts and others. Plans include a mobile/containerized version for rural/tier-2-3 access. Amid global helium shortages (exacerbated by Middle East issues), this positions VoxelGrids as a cost-disruptive, Atmanirbhar Bharat milestone in high-end medtech, aiming to democratize advanced imaging.
🚨 SHOCKING: 300 doctors in Maharashtra quit their seats. 25 have died by suicide.
Junior residents forced into 36-HOUR shifts with no rest. No relief.
This isn't a calling — it's exploitation.
When will we stop normalizing the death of those who save our lives?

@PySamarth@anushkantala 1.The cheaper eggs have yolk that is pale in color and give out a foul smell. 2.Expensive ones have orange yolk and do not have foul smell. It is obvious that the hens have been fed with some waste in the first case.
In a viral video a woman from Morbi in Gujarat speaks about how she gets uninterrupted supply of gas (Gobar gas generated through cow dung and organic waste) from local Gaushala and use it for cooking and other purposes without worrying, amid external turmoil and global crisis
First time riding in a Nura Auto pretty great experience and the dash cam makes it safer I guess. They only have limited autos for now. Also drivers cannot CANCEL your booking. Plus First ride is free. Use refer code VaQH5g for one free ride.
#WATCH | Pune, Maharashtra: Indian scientists developed DME (Dimethyl Ether) technology as an alternative to LPG.
Dr Thirumalaiswamy Raja, Chief Scientist at CSIR-NCL, says, "...Two decades ago, we started this kind of chemistry to attain DME in a cost-effective and legally sustainable way. With this lab, we made it all happen. This was inaugurated by the then Science and Technology Minister, Dr Harshvardhan. We developed syngas to methanol, and syngas to direct DME for using syngas, because CO+H2 from wherever it comes (NG, natural gas, biomass, etc.). Later, we focused on methanol to DME, an indirect route... We developed a catalyst and obtained around 5 patents for this catalyst..."
He adds, "We built it to an industry standard from the beginning. From scratch, we focused on industry needs... We are working with industrial partners, including one in Pune, for a 250 KPD plant. Our fabricator is also based in Pune and is ready to deliver shortly to meet India's needs. We are collaborating with different PSUs, including IOCL, the biggest refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. They validated our process successfully. Now, we are talking with ONGC, which is willing to set up a 2.5-ton-per-day plant (about 2,500 kilograms per day). Once it’s validated with a semi-commercial demonstration plant, it can be scaled to any size. We are ready to roll..." (15.03)
Electric lifts that climb stairs on their own just came out in China, carrying up to 180 kg for 60 to 80 floors, totally changing the game for delivery people...
A little boy was riding his bicycle on the road when it hit a parked bike, and the bike's number plate broke. The boy was scared, but instead of running away, he stayed there and waited for the owner. When the owner arrived, the boy stopped him and told him the whole truth. Since the number plate couldn't be fixed, the boy took money out of his pocket and tried to pay for it. Seeing the child's honesty, the owner became emotional, hugged him, and said, There is no need for this.

I ordered a prestige induction stove on Flipkart on the ninth of this month. It was to be delivered on the 10th. For the past three days I am getting messages that due to some reason it could not be delivered, and it would be delivered the following day. Today when I tracked the delivery person he says I won't get it delivered because my address is wrong. He asks me to cancel the order and order again. Why would I when it is the very same address to which Flipkart has been delivering my orders for the past 2+ years? I refused. I contacted the customer care and presented my case. Within no time my queries got deleted and no one came on line although I wanted to speak to someone there. I took a screenshot. And I am waiting to see if the induction stove would be delivered atleast tomorrow. I think someone is playing the trick as induction stoves are in demand now.

Now that everyone is talking about Gas cylinders during a war situation in West Asia, let me remind a magnificent solution already in place.
Adamya Chetana, an NGO run by @Tej_AnanthKumar, has a midday meal program feeding over 1,50,000 children daily!
What's so special? The Annapoorna kitchen in Bengaluru, which cooks all these meals, is completely fossil-fuel free since 2008!! They are cooking with only renewable, fossil free fuels produced from waste, saving 60 LPG cylinders or 300 litres of diesel/petrol every day!!
Something for India to learn and emulate on a large scale, for long term fuel supply stability.
