Fragrances and 'scents' in products can contain varying types of chemicals that are classified as :
Carcinogens
Mutagens
Teratogens
Reproductive toxicants
Neurotoxicants
Respiratory sensitizers and irritants
Neurodevelopmental disruptors
Endocrine disruptors
Skin sensitizers and irritants
Xenoestrogens
Obesogens
Diabetogens
cytotoxic to human fetal brain development
Phytotoxins
Air fresheners can contribute to human exposure to primary and secondary air pollutants… Air freshener exposures, even at low levels, have been associated with a range of adverse health effects, which include migraine headaches, asthma attacks, breathing difficulties, respiratory difficulties, mucosal symptoms, dermatitis, infant diarrhea and earache, neurological problems, and ventricular fibrillation...” “In addition to population based studies, specific air freshener chemicals (VOCs such as acetaldehyde, SVOCs such as phthalates, and ultrafine particles) emitted from air fresheners have been associated with adverse effects to the neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, immune, and endocrine systems, and with cancer. For instance, acetaldehyde, which can be both a primary and secondary emission from air fresheners, is associated with both acute and chronic hazards to the respiratory system, and classified as a carcinogenic hazardous air pollutant in the US…”

Many fragrance ingredients are endocrine disruptor chemicals.“Exposure to EDCs during early development (DOHaD) has been shown to increase susceptibility to a variety of diseases including infertility, asthma, breast and prostate cancer, early puberty, susceptibility to infections, heart disease, autoimmune disease, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder/learning disability. “
Originally, EDCs were shown to interfere with estrogen, androgen and thyroid hormone signaling (7, 8) resulting in diseases and dysfunctions in reproduction, learning, memory, and behavior.”

@SunshineMamaT@LndamyDark Your essential oils may not be as safe as you think. Read April Graham's book Essentially Deadly if you would like some insight into essential oils and their hazards.
Your candle is polluting your air with harmful chemicals too. If you want to light a candle use a battery powered one or a beeswax candle. Your scented candles are full of the same toxic chemicals as the perfume. While these companies make millions your health becomes an issue.
@edgaralandough https://t.co/Kec79hj32s The perfume does not give beauty. It is full of undisclosed chemicals that can contain endocrine disruptors, teratogens, respiratory toxicants, reprotoxic chemicals, neurotoxins, sensitisers, irritants, ... Skip the spritz and protect your health .
Acetaldehyde in cigarettes is one of the addictive agents. Acetaldehyde is the building blocks of fragrances. People are addicted to their fragrance and scented products. These products have been marketed as safe but they are full of undisclosed chemicals many of which are neurotoxins, endocrine disrupters, respiratory irritants, respiratory sensitizers, teratogenic, fertility toxicants, carcinogenic, mutagenic,… We are being poisoned by these chemicals even as the ads roll across our screen as ‘air freshener’ clean our air😬😬. They actually pollute the air we breathe.
Think your fragrances are safe??? "All "Investigated 42 perfumes, regardless of price or gender-specific use, revealed genotoxic, cytotoxic, antibacterial, neurotoxic/-modulating, and/or endocrine-disrupting compounds. Only one 100-µL spray shot of perfume on the skin already exceeded the EC50 for genotoxicity 77-fold and the IC50 for aromatase inhibition 9,090-fold. The results are a significant step forward in understanding the potential hazards of perfumes, which are not as safe as claimed. The developed hazard-related profiling is considered a milestone, empowering authorities to address the current underregulation." https://t.co/k1cLJeygfO
@roosgarvi@Rainmaker1973@grok They are dangerous. They are the cause of many health symptoms and contain many respiratory and skin sensitizers, include chemicals that harm fertility, contain mutagens, teratogens, carcinogens,...
Essential oils are not safe either. They contain endocrine disrupting chemicals too. ‘Natural’ can be claimed on anything. Make a dessert if you need a nice smell in your house. Take a shower if you think you smell. Use an air purifier in your house. Stop poisoning our families, children, pets, and our air.
Essential oils are not safe either. They are concentrated oils extracted from plants with solvents. Many of these oils are endocrine disrupting chemicals. How about we just clean our houses with soap and water and use an air purifier or boxes of baking soda put out in the house. Stop falling for industry marketing that clean air has a smell. Clean air is odor free.
Wonder if everyone understands that all the air fresheners (all scented products) your kids are exposed to everywhere( in school, day cares, .... at homes) are exposing your kids to neurotoxins, carcinogens, respiratory sensitizers, skin sensitizers,... These chemicals are not regulated or checked out for harm.
I think endocrine disrupting chemicals needs research done in this country. It messes with women and men hormones and leads to many health issues as well as breast and testicular cancer. We need to wake up to the fact that fragrance chemicals in all scented products have many endocrine disrupters and causing us great health harm.
...a study of 10 newborn infants in New York by the Environmental Work Group revealed that these infants, born to mothers exposed to pollutants, had as many as 232 pollutants circulating in the cord blood collected at birth….https://t.co/7a7b4kmowM
'We find that several fragrance chemicals(FC) in children's products are potential carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxicants, phytotoxins and skin sensitizers.” FC have been linked to onset and exacerbation of several allergic & non-allergic disease conditions in humans.'
