With my second child due any day now, I struggled through the chapter about children's development; how car-centric communities create "indoor" kids or "backseat" kids, & how those kids don't have great spatial sense of their communities. It's a choice to create kid-safe streets.
Congratulations @KimJaney on your monumental transition to Mayor of @CityofBoston!
As always, thank you for your strong leadership on transportation equity -- we're looking forward to continuing our partnership in your new role! #BosPoli#Boston
Congrats to Boston Mayor @Kim_Janey & @marty_walsh our new Secretary of Labor. Mayor Janey is not only the first black & female mayor of Boston. But is the first mayor to have participated on Walk to School Day w/ the @EllisSchool walking school bus!! #SafeRoutesBOS
Walking (to school!) in a winter wonderland ❄️ so lucky to have this option in #WinthropMa. DPW doesn’t like it, but our kids do. @SafeRoutes_MA#walktoschool
Parents in Boston (and elsewhere) are using the hashtag #snowroutestoschool to highlight their struggles with impassable snow-covered sidewalks this week (HT @CoachBalto)

“We’ve had highway plans for 60 to 70 years,” said Montgomery planner David Anspacher. “This is the first time we’re doing a pedestrian master plan, and it shows. The pedestrian conditions aren’t great in Montgomery County.” https://t.co/xzkHRKlbRG
