@Yorknewsview To clarify our grp is not affiliated with any political party. We campaigned after all the planned AT investment was withdrawn from Acomb Rd, & also at lack of progress with improving Hamilton Drive. As our tweet shows, we will continue to campaign whichever party is in charge.

@NigelCllr @CityofYork @acombprimary As you know, infrastructure improvements are funded from a range of diff pots, including ward funding. A key issue on Acomb Rd is people from all over York & beyond, driving fast through our community to get elsewhere, so larger citywide funding pots are prob more relevant.

To our immense frustration, despite HUGE campaign @CityofYork have now said that if we want Rd improvements around @acombprimary we need to say so AGAIN in their Transport consultation 😭🤯😱. The consultation closes Sunday, if you have any time please help! (Deets below👇)

@GSwinburn @CityofYork @acombprimary @KilbanePete @labouryork CYC identified Acomb Rd as a high priority for active travel improvements nearly 3-years ago. It was allocated £4m. £ later withdrawn. Our grp continues to push for improved safety here as previously intended, potentially starting with an initial phase of priority measures.

As you'll have seen too, policies & also maps to inviting you to flag different things e.g. seating, paving etc. We were advised we had to respond if we wanted Xings/speed reduction on these Rds to be part of future priority plan.

@AndyDAgorne Agree email is simplest, but didn't want 2 actively dissuade ppl from fuller survey. Survey took one of our group 4.5hrs to complete! 😱 We then went through it again, thinking we cld suggest specific sections to ppl but got lost in the maze of questions & abandoned that plan!

News about X-ing patrol on Acomb Rd is a start, but we still need safer road conditions to help kids doing after-school activities & getting around outside school hours. Also, no improvement yet on Hamilton Drv. We now need Council to deliver reduced speeds & crossings.
