Glad I was able to act and help. It took probably less than a minute but it felt like forever. I've needed to have my first aid certificate for work for the last 20+ years, never needed to use the skills learned other than minor bandages, so thankful for this training.

I think everyone should take a first aid course. Tonight a group of us were out for a friends birthday, one of the group started choking on a piece of steak. She couldn't breathe and tried to take a sip of a drink to move the food, no dice. Totally choking. 1/1

I asked if she was ok, she shook her head no, I grabbed her arm and got her standing up. She was still struggling to breathe. I was able to perform the heimlich and dislodge the food. It worked, we were both shaking after. What a scary situation, I'm just glad I knew what to do.

@Oilers5_more Thanks, it was a nice way to spend a sunny Sunday. It's a diesel shop truck for work, not quite as smooth as my gas job 150, but it was a beautiful day for a drive. Handles pretty good even with the methanol sloshing around. 😄
