Dear FM Madam @nsitharaman ji,

I have said it before. And I'll say it again. Loud & Clear. I hope you read this. My audience will repost this until it reaches the Ministry.

LTCG of 12.5% on Equities is one of the Lowest in the World.

But there are a few issues:

1. LTCG was ZERO from 2004 to 2018. STT was introduced to offset the Loss in Revenue. It incentivised long term Investors to Hold on Patiently and enjoy Long Term Returns. I believe that Step was something Golden and rewards Long Term Thinking. FM Madam should reconsider this. Keep STT. Abolish LTCG. Consider Long Term Investors as a Partner in Growth of India.

2. STT is already taken for every transaction. This is a tax. Again putting Capital Gain, especially on Long Term Gains is not Ok. This is my Opinion. STT is borne by the investor irrespective of Profit or Loss.

3. We are not against Paying Taxes. In fact, we all Pay Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, GST, Excise, VAT, Tax on Dividends and what not. The problem is the Freebies which are Distributed during the Elections. This is not at all ok. We don't want a single rupee of our Capital Gains to be used for Freebies. Please.

I humbly request the FM Madam to Abolish LTCG on Equities. Make the Long Term Period 24 months instead of 12 months. You will see Patient Capital 👍 We need Patient Capital to Drive Markets. Incentivise Long Term Investing Mindset.

For Indian Investors like me, the Pain is lesser. We will continue to Create Wealth. But what about our FII brothers & sisters. They also deserve to get minimum returns in Dollar Terms.

I feel for the FIIs who have suffered due to declining Rupee and they still have to pay LTCG on Rupee Terms. Something the FM Madam and team should revisit.

I think that it is a good time to implement this. FII no longer control our markets. Domestic Funds are consistent and plenty. If FIIs leave, let them Leave with Head Held High. That is our Responsibility.

India Structually is Brilliant. Let's make it Tax Friendly as well.

Patient Capital will Flow More & Stay, if these Steps are Taken.

Even a few years ago, #Pune was one of the most livable cities in Bharat. Every time I travelled to Delhi, I used to congratulate myself on living in green Pune. Every time I travelled to Mumbai, I used to congratulate myself on living in clean Pune. Every time I travelled to Bengaluru, I used to congratulate myself on the less congested roads of Pune.

Now they say Pune is a #SmartCity, all I see are endless traffic snarls, mounds of garbage and construction debris dumped by roadside, small politicians with big egos holding the city traffic hostage with their VIP entourages, endless delays in road construction, increasing pollution, high number of road accidents, frequent power failures due to crumbling infrastructure and policy makers talking about the ‘future’, which is 30 years away, but what about the present?

Why should tax paying citizens suffer everyday for basic facilities like clean air, safe roads, uninterrupted power and a clean city?

The problems are multiple. There is ZERO accountability. When was the last time a @PMCPune employee was suspended/sacked for not doing his job? I hear from reliable sources that the last municipal commissioner of Pune was allegedly SO corrupt that he stole furniture and fittings from the bungalow allotted to him! But no one wants to talk about it.

The PMC app is a useless thing. No complaint registered there gets redressed. Politicians from all parties only talk and give media bytes. When was the last time any work actually got done in Pune to solve the traffic, pollution, safety issues?

I honestly don’t know what @PMCPune does! Every road in Pune within the city limit has garbage and construction waste dumped by the roadside, even the Pune-Bengaluru highway between Bavdhan and Baner. Mounds and mounds of festering plastic garbage, just piling up every day!

No one clears it up or fines the people who dump garbage and construction waste. There are no corporators to complain to as there have been no municipal elections. PMC officials have no fear of losing their jobs, so they do nothing at all!

There are huge, blatantly illegal furniture showrooms near the Sus Road overpass. Everyone knows they are illegal. Once a year PMC wakes up, demolishes a few, the shops come up in under 24 hours by paying hafta to the corrupt PMC officials, rinse and repeat! @mohol_murlidhar @AjitPawarSpeaks @Medha_kulkarni @ChDadaPatil

@narendramodi Traffic situation is worst in pune. Every punekar is frustrated with traffic. Metro should have been here 5 years back.
Current Metro work is very very slow. Pune deserves better politicians.
Hadapsar will get metro most likely in 2035.

The annual budget of Maharashtra's Ladli Bahin Yojna is ₹46,000 crore. This amount exceeds the DRDO budget (₹24,000 crore) and the ISRO budget (₹13,000 crore).

Remember, this is just one state. Almost all states are running Ladli Behan, Chulbuli Nanand, Chidchidi Fufi Yojnas, whose combined budgets surpass the Union budgets for health, education, and other critical sectors.

And these are just one type of freebies. Add to this the ₹60,000 crore Kisaan Sammaan Yojna, the ₹11,80,000 crore (over five years) free ration scheme, free water/electricity in various states, berozgari bhattas, and many more.

Freebies will eventually take this country down. While there’s no hope from political parties, why doesn’t the SC takes it suo motu, form a constitutional bench or something, and take steps to nullify or regulate such freebies? Surely, they understand the dangerous path we are treading, right?
