If you valued your faith you would NOT allow it to be used to justify: child sexual abuse, coercive control, violence toward non believers, theocracy, violence, cover up of violence. You would not tolerate it. You would cut the canker out. But you wonโt even name that reality.
@survivorstrong3 If you have ever been abused by a police officer, it's twice as scary to report it. They own all the power and scare you with their knowledge of law and friends who back them up.
@survivorstrong3 I am really working with my grad program with trauma to push this as part of abuse. It is eye opening to some people, breaks traditions. Let's take someone's "place they go after death" and manipulate them to think if they leave they are "bad, evil, or not in God's will".
@survivorstrong3 YES!! Even though they want to stay with the 'old standards', they fail to see the flaws in that. There is an attitude to never stop learning, growing and wanting to be better than we use to be. Like anything, social media can be a tool used for good or bad ideas.
@survivorstrong3 My growing up in church side wants to say, "Preach It!" & "AMEN!". I REALLY wish there was a way to explain how bad this side of abuse is.
@survivorstrong3 Whenever you are ready to...sometimes you just have to realize you aren't speaking to the people you want to hear it. Sometimes you are speaking to the people who want to listen.
Trauma survivors have this quirk where we think we're insufferably lazy, "should" be working harder-- when the truth is, trauma survivors have been usually working OVERWHELMINGLY hard to stay relatively sane, safe, & stable EVERY DAY for YEARS.
Yeah, I see you. Ease up.
@survivorstrong3 My heart breaks for this family. This was my worst fear being in the newspaper, everyone thinking how could this happen to such a nice family. There needs to be more ways to help police & their families.
@survivorstrong3 When you take someone's very soul & what happens to it after death, along with "if you stay". This becomes another ball game of trauma.
