3 non-obvious ideas that changed my life:

1. Self improvement means forcing your future into your present

Think of the best version of yourself.

Then, adopt:

- Their daily habits
- How they dress
- How they speak
- How they think about goals

Bridge the gap between your ultimate and your current self.

The idea being, future "you" is way more competent than present "you."

2. Prioritize failures

Writing 1 million+ words online has taught me that quality only comes from a huge volume of crappy work.

I've become extremely comfortable knowing:

- My first attempt at something will never resemble someone else's final product
- Most ideas don't work, so you need to come up with a ton of ideas

The bigger the idea, the higher the odds of failure — and that's okay.

3. Writing helps you discover your blind spots

I don't just say that because I'm a writer. Anyone can use a journal to become a clearer thinker for free.

Experienced writers know the point of writing is not to show off your expertise.

It's to figure out how little you actually know.

Putting thoughts into words changes your original ideas because it specifies them.

The more specific the idea, the better the chance at understanding.
