In a span of two weeks a second group of 74 students partaking Development Studies from the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) paid a visit to the Ruben Centre. Similar to the last visit by their counterparts, this duty call was part of the students’
14 groups emerged and with help from our brilliant Community Health Workers (CHWs) they were able to get a glimpse of life in Mukuru’s alleyways. The students got to briefly experience the different challenges as well as insights of human rights injustices faced by community
members. It being a Lent Season, the students brought along maize flour for the homes they visited. Ruben Centre wishes all students of CUEA every bit of luck in their education as well as their quest to improve lives of the vulnerable and marginalized communities.
