Today is the anniversary of one of the most infamous days in California history. Four years ago, Gavin Newsom celebrated the arrival of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, as an “opportunity” for a “new progressive era.”

In the months and years that followed, Newsom would institute the most ignorant and backwards COVID regime of any state, with the most regressive overall outcomes: educational, economic, and public health.

Far from dawning a new “era,” Newsom’s COVID reign dramatically accelerated the state’s decline. California would suffer its first ever population loss in 2020, and would lead the nation in out-migration in the years that followed. Unemployment, poverty, wage stagnation, illiteracy, crime, and homelessness would all worsen through the COVID years up to the present.

Even the Speaker of the California Assembly, a far-left member of the Supermajority, would say Newsom caused permanent damage to our democratic institutions.

Detroit-based General Motors is suing the City of San Francisco.

Why? Because the city taxed them $108 million on sales of $667,000. Where's the math come from? Well, the city taxed them on global sales instead of revenue in the city of San Francisco.

This is a prime example of how blue cities like New York and San Fran are driving away businesses at insane rates.

Having a tax bill of $108 million on less than $1 million is bonkers.
