Why is everyone so shocked when this is the person running Somaliland National TV? Somalilanders are tribalist to the core; they love the Huwan who are Isaaq, yet cry about the Huwan who are Darood or from any other clan. Either oppose them all, or stop the crocodile tears. She is Cirro's only daughter, and Khaliif is his best friend.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland hereby announces that the Government of the Republic of Somaliland has recalled its Representative to the Republic of Djibouti to Hargeisa for consultations.

Israel became the first country to formally recognize the self-declared Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state, a decision that could reshape regional dynamics guul Somaliland
Report. The British Foreign Office recommends applying for an E-Visa for any travel to Somalia. The enclave of Somaliland is NOT an independent country but rather a region in the north of Somalia.
According to Bloomberg, the Republic of Somaliland has offered the United States the opportunity to construct a naval base on its coast near the Bab al-Mandab Strait between the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, as well as a critical rare earth-minerals deal, in exchange for its recognition as an independent country from Somalia. This comes amidst a push by the President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, for closer relations with Washington and the Trump Administration, who currently consider Somaliland as part of Somalia.

Comments I made at an event welcoming athletes from different countries who will be competing in the Hargeysa International Half Marathon tomorrow.
This competition, now in its second year will hopefully grow to include many more athletes from more countries next year. This event was organized by the #Somaliland Ministry of Youth and Sports and we congratulate them for a job well done.
Sports connects people and this sports event will forever connect, the foreign athletes to our country. And as they return home, we hope they pass on to their fellow countrymen, a positive image of our nation.
This young man from Mogadishu has a far deeper understanding of the realities of #Somaliland than most Mogadishu politicians, whose false claims of sovereignty over Somaliland are not only illogical but also illusory.
However, most of their younger generation are more pragmatic towards SL and less attached to the failed Somali Weyn experiment that went horribly wrong at its inception.
We were profoundly surprised, even shocked on discovering the remarks made by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D) of Minnesota in a recent public forum, widely circulated on most social media platforms and attached below for your reference.
The language she employed was regrettably unbecoming of both the office she holds and the constituents she represents.
Her expressions were lacking in common decency and revealed a significant lack of understanding of basic facts. Specifically troubling, were her endeavors to revive the once-violent and dangerous ideology of Greater Somalia or Somali Weyn, which caused so much death, destruction and conflict in the Horn of Africa.
Furthermore, her use of ethno-racist rhetoric didn't escape attention and left many, with a deep sense of disappointment.
This was particularly bewildering for those who recall similar racist attacks she endured not long ago, of being ”not American enough” and was baffling to see her take a similar approach and accuse the entire #Somaliland nation of “falsely claiming Somali identity.”
Moreover, her ignorance of #US - #Somaliland cooperation in the fight against terror and piracy in the Gulf of Aden & Gulf Of Berbera was shocking to say the least.
We hope the house leadership and her caucus will take note of her public conduct, unbecoming a United States Congresswoman nor representative of the august house she serves in.

In response to recent concerns regarding potential implications of any future agreement between the Governments of Somaliland and Ethiopia, and how it might lead to a resurgence of Al Shabab, it is essential to address the situation with a more nuanced perspective grounded in the realities on the ground.
Al Shabab and its predecessor agencies emerged from conditions of lawlessness, warlordism, violence and poverty, rather than stemming from a deep-seated animosity towards Ethiopia, as inaccurately portrayed by some.
Moreover, their continued existence is sustained by weak administrative institutions incapable or unwilling to address the fundamental needs of their citizens.
This problem is exemplified by the tendency of leaders in Mogadishu to prioritize overseas engagements over domestic responsibilities.
Academic and research institutions have time and again, consistently presented evidence indicating that organized crime and militancy tend to thrive in conditions characterized by corruption and violence, contradicting any claims suggesting a direct correlation between regional agreements and a resurgence of such groups.
The Ethiopian-Somaliland Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is fundamentally designed to alleviate poverty and help grow economies on both sides of the border.
Upon its signing, the agreement is poised to impact a significant portion of the population in both countries directly or indirectly, thereby diminishing the development or influence of such groups in the region.
It is also crucial here that, we acknowledge the substantial presence of Ethiopian forces for the past many years, in three regions of Somalia, deployed to secure these areas against Al Shabab, widely acknowledged and appreciated, within and beyond those regions, contradicting effectively, any theories suggesting a contrary narrative.
Lastly, in fostering a diplomatic and constructive dialogue, it is our hope that these clarifications help address concerns and contribute to a more accurate understanding of the future potential impacts of the Ethiopian-Somaliland MoU on regional stability.
