Being so happy. Loving my job that 2 months in I still love. My manager being wonderfully supportive from before I even started.
My colleagues are just amazing.
I no longer dread waking up n going to work. I get up early and am raring to go. #happy#ActuallyAutistic
I am going to use this from now on cos I have had to be such a bitch today to just get an reasonable adjustment supported for an interview. I don't like having to bring up the law and equality act but ive had to today
One of the hardest parts of ADHD...
Is feeling like you're broken,
Like your mind is malfunctioning.
- You forget thoughts in seconds
- Lose track of words while speaking them
- get confused in conversations while actively trying to participate.
You want to listen.
You don't want to be rude.
But if you don't say what you're thinking right now...
You feel a step closer to losing your mind.
Late-identified autistics carry a grief most people don’t see.
Grief for years spent masking.
Grief for needs denied, pain dismissed, truths never named.
You weren’t “coping well”
You were surviving without mirrors.
Autistic humans are taught early that our needs are inconvenient.
So we learn to shrink.
To make ourselves easier to be around.
But poor boundaries aren’t just about saying yes too often.
They’re about abandoning ourselves before anyone else can.
Unlearning that isn’t easy.
You do realise that cutting benefits won’t magically make disabled people well enough to work right? 😳
Cutting benefits will make us isolated, unable to afford rent, bills, food, cost of living, services that keep us independent!
Callous & cruel 👿

A week into recovery from major abdominal surgery. And I didn't realise how constantly tired I wld be. How much I want to cry and how much my manager wld upset me about trying to get me back to work early. Like who does that to someone with a six week sick note?
