So the Michigan game just went final when we went on-air tonight and we're not allowed to show highlights until the broadcast is completely over. But I promised the viewers "highlights" and I tried to deliver the best I could:
The Baltimore Orioles' Brandon Hyde was named American League Manager of the Year. The Orioles won 101 games and the AL East title despite having one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. He ran away with it, getting 27 of 30 first-place votes. Bruce Bochy finished second.
This Orioles team is following the Astros blueprint every step of the way. It’s okay to feel deflated after securing the #1 seed, but this core will keep them in contention for years. Hyde and Elias deserve credit, and they’ve earned my faith.
FINAL | Norfolk 7, Durham 0

Think about all the dreadful, miserable, soul-sucking baseball O's skipper Brandon Hyde had to sit through. Very few managers survive a rebuild and make it to the good days. Hyde endured, and now, with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face, he gets to live the reward.
