Grok 4.7 may be a good example of the increasing challenge in benchmarking models outside of their 1P harness.

There will always be a huge market for raw API access, but if the primary use case is going to go through the 1P harness why not benchmark/eval using that?

The right way to measure coding for example probably through Antigravity, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc… & evaluating their e2e output + cost.

Tesla with FSD is a transportation robot.

I had one of the first Model 3s in 2017. FSD was basically slightly better cruise control. Great on the highway. But honestly felt oversold.

So I have been driving a BMW for the past 3 years. Great horse, fun to drive.

But tried FSD recently and holy shit — it’s a personal Waymo. Works perfectly. I just went to the Fremont factory to get my new car, entered my address 30+ mins away, pushed a button, and got home without doing a thing.

I don’t think most people realize how good this is, probably because they only experienced an early version previously. This is 1000x better. Metaphor for AI writ large. Like trying GPT 3.5 and thinking it’s cute and hallucinates, and dismissing it…while Astra launches in 2026 and is orders of magnitude more capable.

Fair, although from limited experience as an intern at Apple, the senior leaders seemed a lot more hands on than other large organizations.

I saw a clip where they reference the foldable project in particular was very locked down so would be surprised if more than 100 people were involved in the key decisions.

Huge fan of @Waymo but anyone who has been following the AV industry since 2016+ is in awe of what FSD has achieved.

There is literally no viable competitor to either FSD 14 or FSD 14 Lite, & FSD 14 Lite runs on hardware introduced in 2019! Meanwhile, we’re on the cusp of FSD 15.

At this point, it’s rational to expect Tesla to succeed in autonomy.

Skepticism should be on Optimus which is less proven, for now :)

18 months ago this move would have ended Cursor’s business (e.g. Anthropic cutting off Windsurf).

Today, Cursor has a 1P Model that is already good enough for most use cases at lower cost & by November the coding space will probably have 3 frontier options to choose from (including Grok).

This probably doesn’t hurt Cursor but breaks trust among developers for OpenAI.
