Not every space dream begins with a telescope. Some begin with an old encyclopaedia.

Long before he signed a NASA contract or built a ₹900 crore satellite startup, Awais Ahmed was a young boy in Karnataka's Aldur village with no internet, but an endless curiosity about the universe.

Growing up, he discovered galaxies and planets through encyclopaedias his father brought home.

Years later, while studying at BITS Pilani, he and his batchmate Kshitij Khandelwal realised the satellite data they needed simply didn't exist.

So instead of waiting for someone else to solve the problem, they built the solution themselves.

That idea became Pixxel.

Started in 2019 with borrowed money and big dreams, the company has since raised nearly ₹900 crore, secured a NASA contract, attracted global investors like Google, and launched six Firefly satellites that are transforming how we monitor crops, methane emissions and environmental change.

A mother who helped her blind daughter graduate from law school by attending every class and reading textbooks aloud for four years was awarded an honorary law degree in recognition of her extraordinary dedication.

In July 2018, Sakarya University awarded an honorary law degree to Havva Kul alongside her visually impaired daughter, Berru Merve Kul, during the school’s graduation ceremony. With limited access to Braille textbooks and audio learning resources, Havva became her daughter’s primary source of academic support throughout law school.

For four years, she accompanied Berru to every class, took notes, and helped her keep up with coursework requirements. At home, she spent countless hours reading law textbooks, case studies, and legal codes aloud so her daughter could prepare for exams. In recognition of her extraordinary dedication, Faculty Dean Professor Mahmut Bilen invited Havva to the stage and presented her with a special degree certificate, earning a standing ovation from the audience.

اگر ہم اپنی خوشیوں اور ضروریات میں سے چند ہزار کی بھی نیکی اور اللہ کی خوشنودی کے لئے دیں تو یہ مشکل نہیں ہے
اور میرا یقین ہے دینے کی توفیق اللہ ہر ایک کو نہیں دیتا
آج ہم اللہ کے دیے رزق سے کسی کی مشکل وقت میں کسی کا سہارا بنیں گے تو کل مشکل وقت میں اللہ ہمارا مددگار ہوگا

David Gold, formerly associated with the Russian Orthodox Church in Australia, is now Abdul Rahman. He studied Christianity deeply and realized the Bible’s texts were compiled centuries after Christ, while the Quran has been perfectly preserved in its original language.

After praying for guidance, he picked up a Quran he had never read. Within a few lines, he found his answer in Surah Al-Hajj 22:78: “The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before…” — and he decided to embrace Islam.

Abdul Rahman has since been learning Arabic, visited Mecca, and is dedicated to serving Islam.
