@itsjim84 @andymckay Taking existing streets and retrofitting is a long and expensive task. While bike lanes should be installed here and perhaps a road diet, keep lobbying the council to get this improved.
@itsjim84 @andymckay In the photo I see 2 travel lanes, both are narrow. But unless the bicycle is turning left, the MVA is clear they stay to the right lane. Meanwhile, the cars can use the left lane to pass the bicycle in a safe manner.

@rainercodes @currentfv@City_Abbotsford Remember homelessness was a core issue in 2014 Abbotsford election. In 8 years did the city solve homelessness?
Stop passing the buck and sit down with the province to work this out.
@ARCCollective He speaks that 20 years ago they could have slowed down the tyranny.
Wasn't his fellow Albertan Stephen Harper the PM between 7 & 16 years ago? Or was Harper just too liberal for this new conservative movement?
@LangleyTownship, I think this is the wrong sign.
SB Springfield Drive just s of Nicholas Dr. Park zone for David Beggs Memorial Park. Other 2 sign are playground zones in effect 7 days/week.
This one a school zone sign in effect only when school is session. 1/-
@BikeChilliwack @itsjim84 @DavidZipper I question if a household making $250,000 needs an ebike grant. A household making $25,000 probably needs a 90% grant.
BTW, if you're "making" $935/mon that's $11,220/year.
Let's work to help people get out of poverty & make ebikes the defacto micro-transport choice for all.
@BikeChilliwack @itsjim84 @DavidZipper Agreed. In my neighbourhood ebikes are mostly used by retired seniors going shopping.
But the idea is not to stigmatize low income people, but to provide extra assistance to help them get ebikes.
Grants for all income ranges is ok, but I prefer a sliding scale.
@CityofSurrey Can you DM the engineer's phone number? The issue is the existing pavement marking on the east side of KGB go right into a curb and not the curb cut beside it.
The westside is properly laid out to the protected bike lane.
@CityofSurrey, just wondering about the new bikecross on King George Blvd @ 70B Av. Are you guys expecting cyclists to jump over a 6 inch high curb?

@itsjim84 @BikeChilliwack@DavidZipper One final point. If you have never lived on a government financial assistance program it is hard to understand what this is like.
Due to disabling illness I had to go on welfare for a year If it wasn't for the support of family & friends I doubt I'd be where I am today.
@itsjim84 @BikeChilliwack@DavidZipper ... otherwise wouldn't have access to.
I want Ebikes to help people get out of poverty not leave them forever in the cycle of not getting foothold as an employed person. 2/2

@RFaux1983 Or at least traffic dieted. 4th Av between Fir and Macdonald should have this profile:
wider sidewalk | bike lane | travel lane | dual left turn lane | travel lane | bike lane | sidewalk | wider sidewalk. All with a 30 kmh speed limit.
@BikeChilliwack@DavidZipper So should low income households have access to this type of grant.
EBikes can be an essential and affordable transportation option for households who can't afford cars.
Many parts of BC transit is not a viable option.
@JohnsonStBRDG on one side of the highway, measured from the curbs, or in the absence of curbs, from the edges of the roadway"
Yes, the important legal definition that ICBC does not include in the Learn to Drive Smart: Your Guide to Driving Safely book for new drivers.
