Doctor working in public health (MBBS MScPH FAFPHM). Empowerment. Our shared humanity. Public interest not corporate interest. Climate action. Rural Oz.
Never forgive - Never forget - these repulsive, craven ghouls who destroyed what should have been such a straightfoward opportunity for national unity, pride and recognition of First Nations Australians.

Protest by @DoctorsXr at Lord's cricket match highlights sport’s sponsorship deals amid climate crisis
Come on @freodockers please show leadership & drop @WoodsideEnergy! It's not acceptable to partner with one of the world's largest fossil fuel companies

Have been looking forward to getting this off my chest. A response to Alan Finkel's recent Quarterly Essay, in which he championed the Federal Governments purportedly 'tech only' approach to climate action.
A 'go slow' on climate is deadly.

so this is what is happening in the NSW parliament today: a bill to prevent assessment of the impacts of coal burning once it's been sold overseas. the coal industry demanded this bill, and it's captive politicians are trying to deliver it, today. today. https://t.co/j5Molkyky4
@Mark_Butler_MP@QandA I think Labor is wrong on this, a disappointing cop out & missed opportunity-it is not political, it is fact needing appropriate response. People desperately need + want to talk about climate change, now. We don't do this with other issues eg. gun control.
@TonyButi_MLA@TinleyMLA@Scottludlam I find it very frustrating when parties denigrate each other, and particularly in relation to climate. Exactly what fossil fuel industry wants. This is people's lives and health. Can we please move on from events of more than a decade ago and work together for climate action?
Many doctors and medical students will rally today to demand action to mitigate the impact of climate change on human health and the planet https://t.co/DbUKKvsgQZ #auspol#ClimateStrike
@ama_media Great work @ama_media thank you. I gave up my AMA membership partly over AMA's lack of climate action, but this helps me reconsider. Next step: divest, call 4 no fossil fuel support of institutions, join @Health4Climate school strike, & make climate advocacy active priority.
Doctors: You have cancer. We need to act aggressively to save your life.
Climate Deniers: Don't worry, that lump is natural. Maybe it will go away on its own. You should just learn to adapt. Have you thought of the benefits? Besides, surgery is too expensive anyway.
And the rest should mostly be about the climate and ecological breakdown.
Because if we fail to start the rapid transformation of our society within the upcoming 5 years then basically nothing else will matter in the future.
Climate action is absolutely about gas @RichardDiNatale@Jordonsteele. VERY disappointed, now no party is standing for what's right, just 'politically possible' as Greta Thunberg says. Just lost my vote in WA.
@MarkMcGowanMP Your government's number 1 priority should be to protect its citizens and the land on which they depend. That's why action on climate change should be your top priority- our children's future depends on action right now - the UN and IPCC have been unequivocal in that.
