The Ambassador formally handed the Governor a letter of invitation to the 2026 Paris International Agricultural Show @Salondelagri, an opportunity for Kano State to promote itself as a center for agricultural production, processing and trade.
The Ambassador and his delegation then visited the Garko Market construction site, where work is underway to improve market infrastructure for the thousands of people who come there every week to sell their agricultural products.
On November 24, the French Ambassador to Nigeria Marc Fonbaustier paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kano State, @Kyusufabba. They discussed ongoing @AFD_France projects in Kano State, in the areas of urban water as well as roads and agricultural markets.

The initiative is co-funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (@IFAD), the French Development Agency (@AFD_en), and the Government of Nigeria.
The eight-year initiative, validated on March 21, 2024, was conceived following Vice President @KashimSM’s request during the UNFSS Stocktaking Moment in Rome on July 24, 2023, that IFAD should scale up its portfolio in Nigeria and mobilize additional partners and donors to support the agri-food transformation and food security priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The visitors shared updates on their Technical Assistance Program in Nigeria, which supports universal health coverage, improved health governance, human resources for health, and better access to medicines.
