Authors are often given the advice “write what you know”. I disagree. One of the joys of writing is exploring worlds other than the one you live in. The author’s personal experiences will still shine through as part of their style.
If I sell enough books to pay for the book cover of my next read, that’s a success. I sell on Amazon and local events. So fun to actually talk to potential readers.
My work in progress is a historical fiction mystery. I’ve always thought fantasy was too “hard” to write, but in fantasy anything goes. Probably easier than having to be true to a time period.
@VigilantFox I was a fan of yours when I bought your exercise DVDs. Now I’m a fan for different reasons. Thank you for your efforts in getting the truth out there. Some people still won’t listen, but we need warriors like you.
My novella, Death is Personal, was in the top 800 of Amazon's two hour reads. If you have KNP you can read it for free. Check it out. https://t.co/xdv3m17TzU
@hjluks I had a tibial plateau fracture while skiing at the age of 66. I couldn’t walk for 9 weeks. The blessing is that the fall made my husband and I view exercise as an utmost priority. Our lives were on hold for 9 weeks and we didn’t like it. Exercise is the fountain of youth
@HarmeetKDhillon I’m old so exercise is the ticket to doing the activities I enjoy - tennis, paddle boarding , hiking, keeping up with grandkids. Exercise is priceless when you are over 60. No drug will make you feel so good.
One day your life will be summed up in a paragraph or two on a bulletin that will be handed out at your memorial service. No one will care about how much money you made or how much stuff you owned. No one will care how high you climbed in your profession. Instead, they’ll talk about what kind of person you were.
