Today sees the launch of our partnership with our friends @YorkLibrariesUK to help get copies of York's most requested books into the hands of readers
We've already had the first donation - List of Suspicious Things by @jennieg_author ππ (great choice!)
If you are considering a donation, please have a look at the list of books below, choose the one you'd like to donate, purchase from our website https://t.co/dKMKfG48YG and enter the discount code to remove the postage charge. We will deliver the donated books.
THANK YOU for your support

We can't believe that the @YorkLitFest is almost upon us again!
We are super-excited for this year's line-up which includes my old friend @matthaig1, the wonderful Susanna Clarke (who wrote one of my fave books ever!), TV star @susie_dent and the book launch for another friend of FLB @NaomiBooth - to name a few!

@ASTEROIDNlGHTS@criminalplaza This is basically the plot of the TV show Manifest. A plane doesn't land, then reappears 5 years later. No time has passed for the passengers, but they have to reintegrate into a society that has moved on 5 years. Including loved ones with new relationships etc. It's really good!
Join our friends @YSJWriting@YorkStJohn on Tues to hear author Manya Wilkinson read from her new novel, an 'artful folding-together of fable, history and Jewish joke-making... a story for the moment and for the ages.' FREE event but tix must be booked:

Immigration is not the reason that you canβt get a hospital appointment, itβs the reason you can get one.
Please repost for all the people who canβt seem to grasp that.
@WalkerMarcus@StBartholomews I heard the wonderful @RevRichardColes tell a similar funny story at a brilliant event @StPetersYork for @YorkLitFest. For an insurance form for his church he had to enter the date his organisation started. Errmm... zero?!?
Weβre all so looking forward to welcoming @RCArmitage to talk to @ellyfyork@StPetersYork tomorrow, with our friends @foxlanebooks & @YorkLitFest
So exciting!
Donβt forget it starts at 6.30 pm. There is some on site π parking but if you can π΄ π or πΆββοΈπΆββοΈplease do, weβre very central.
See you there! Last few ποΈ below

@craig31holland@HannahAlOthman Yeah, I don't get the "extra admin/ cost of checking ID" argument. Staff already have to check your ticket, (plus checking your pockets/ bags, even going thru a metal detector in some venues) practically it would take no extra time to glance at a piece of ID at the same time.
To all those people frothing at the mouth about Angela Rayner dancing, whilst she is on her holidays and parliament is in recess, remember the Tories did that in Downing Street when the country was in lockdown.
Delighted to be welcoming Richard Armitage to York this September!
In collaboration with our friends @foxlanebooks and @StPetersYork π

Thanks @MoneySavingExp Took your advice and got a new quote 3 weeks before my renewal date. Β£25 less than this year. Then my renewal quote came though: up Β£75 from this year! So I've saved Β£100 by not auto-renewing π
We've said it before, but never auto-renew your car insurance! β
Even though insurers are banned from charging existing customers more than newbies, it's still likely to cost extra.
