We talked about the wanting to belong in class, this want is completely natural and I believe that we should all live in a world where everyone can feel like they belong where ever, how ever, and who ever they are. #WMST1007#wm3nvir0
Melanie Martinez should not be defended as a rapist. But I have been pondering a question, how do we handle those cases where “victims” are actually not victims? Those people also take away from the seriousness of rape and there have been cases of this. #WMST1007#wm3nvir0
@SchulthessJason @TSidher I agree with @TSidher in a way that it is not okay to defend a rapist. But i would say it’s not promoting rape, rather taking away the seriousness of it #wm3nvir0#WMST1007
@TSidher#WMST1007#wm3nvir0 This is very well spoken!!!! It is a major flaw to be putting down victims of rape... makes it seem like rape is not a serious offense when it clearly is.
@SchulthessJason I completely agree with you. I feel that there is so much tension to promote ones party when there is a grey area as well that should be addressed #WMST1007#wm3nvir0
@SchulthessJason #wm3nvir0#WMST1007 this is such a great point. Naturally we all want to have that feeling of belonging and it has had such an impact on globalization
In my opinion, I think that there are differences between the problems with women between first and third world countries on a more specific level, but on a more general level I feel that women around the world want the same solution to the problem #WMST1007#wmgl0b3
As we talked in class, I thought the example about the Olympic Villages with migration in tourism was very interesting. It’s become almost a norm that other countries want to present themselves as best as they can to others #WMST1007#wmgl0b3
@taylorpunredu I didn’t either, and I think that that is because sex trafficking is becoming a problem that is being focused on, so it is becoming more known #WMST1007#wmgl0b3
@Alexismcmillen2 I agree, there is a TV show called “This Is Us” and they show this very well when the parents adopt their African American son, Randall, and they have to remember the differences in his culture like taking him to a barber that knows black hair #WMST1007#wmgl0b3
How does everyone feel about the “Funnel of Injustice”? Are there any opinions on what’s within the inverted pyramid, like what should and shouldn’t be in there? #WMST1007#wmcrime3
On the flip side, i do understand that rehabilitation should be more prevelant within the prison system, and that work is helping with that, so i don’t see it as negatively #WMST1007#wmcrime3
In class we talked about how the prison system is taking advantage of cheap labor... in my opinion, it’s a privilege for prison workers to be paid at all for working while they are serving their sentence #WMST1007#wmcrime3
@CarterPrice1234 I agree with you Carter, there truly are people in prison because of the crimes that they commit and we need to look at that too #WMST1007#wmcrime3
