What started with a few moms asking who protects the front door to the internet may soon reach the U.S. Supreme Court.
After the Fifth Circuit overturned a lower court’s injunction blocking Texas’ App Store Accountability Act, opponents asked Justice Alito to grant emergency relief and reinstate the injunction. Texas has until June 22 to respond.
This is a historic moment for parents. The arguments families have been making for years about protecting children online may soon be heard before the highest court in the land.
This article unintentionally highlights something important: Speaker Mike Schultz’s position on data centers is actually a fairly reasonable one. At our WCRW luncheon, he openly discussed the need for transparency, local input, and serious impact studies surrounding large-scale data center projects.
Had some of the protesters taken a moment to come inside and listen, they probably would have agreed with much of what he said. That’s why the quote at the end claiming “this isn’t partisan” feels difficult to reconcile. If this truly is not partisan, then why target the Republican Speaker of the House—who was one of the first leaders in Utah publicly calling for greater transparency and impact studies for Box Elder residents regarding these projects? If this isn’t partisan, how many Republicans were there protesting on Thursday?
At a time when many politicians avoid difficult conversations altogether, Speaker Schultz came to Washington County, spent significant time discussing these concerns openly, and took questions directly from citizens. I appreciate his willingness to engage honestly and publicly on the criticism surrounding the proposed Box Elder Data Center, and I think it’s evidence of his good leadership.

I’ve heard some Democrats (and Republicans) are digging through my profile lately, so I figured I’d save everyone some time and introduce myself properly. 😊
I’m a Christian, a mom, and currently serve as President of Washington County Republican Women. I’m also on the board of Utah Parents United. I’m also a precinct chair, state delegate and county delegate. I recently started a podcast to help elevate conservative voices in Southern Utah, Politicit Dixie.
Over the past several years, I’ve been involved in a number of conservative causes I care deeply about, including: working to repeal Prop 4, advocating for representative government, serving on the Republican Party SCC, passing 2 resolutions (repealing SB54 and addressing the Texas border crisis), and helping work on legislation aimed at protecting children from lewd content in public spaces.
Before getting involved in politics, I taught English part-time at Utah Tech University (formerly Dixie State) for 11 years. I also helped start a College Republicans club at the university. I enjoy supporting College Republicans and Young Republicans because I think mentorship matters, and young people need strong leaders and good examples as they get involved in public life.
And for the record: I’ve never been paid to support or promote any candidate or policy position. I’ve never run for public office. I speak up because I genuinely care about these issues and about Utah’s future, and I believe conservative government best protects my freedoms and values.
God Bless America! 🇺🇸
With 3 Utah Supreme Court seats set to open, I’m hoping Utah joins the wave of Republican wins sweeping the country. The future of our courts matters. 🇺🇸
It’s almost June! That time of year when we display our personal beliefs on gender, sexuality, identity, and family.
2026 will be the fourth year since my husband and I made The Family Proclamation into a flag representing our religious freedom.
We did this because we personally experienced the subversion of our family’s religious freedom by the state. When “pride” and its accompanying doctrines were forced on my children in Murray UT’s public schools in 2021, I felt compelled to do everything I could to take a stand against it.
In 2023, I felt inspired to create this flag and display it in response to “pride month.” I know other flags have been made, but The Family Proclamation is the only flag that directly demonstrates why pride ideologies are antithetical to my religious beliefs, as I so eloquently proved in Utah’s 3rd District Court last year (thanks, Kennedy Nate of RQN 😘)!
Let me make this clear: my family’s religious freedom was violated by the state in the name of LGBTQ+ Pride. Thus, my response necessitated a clear demonstration of why and how “Pride” violates my religious beliefs. And that is why I needed (and created) this flag in response to “Pride.” Try as they might, no other flags do the job for this issue specifically.
Displaying my religious beliefs on gender, sexuality, and identity is not an insult to anyone, and if you see it that way, then sorry, but you failed to comprehend the assignment. Religious freedom is protected by the First Amendment and my rights don’t evaporate just because someone is offended by them.
If you love truth and want to defend your religious right to believe in 2 genders, marriage between a man and a woman, and our identity as children of God, feel free to join me and my husband again this June in displaying The Family Proclamation.
We have flags available at cost. Venmo $15 with your address and we will get a flag shipped to you asap. Link in comments.
That is the most Utah accent I have heard in awhile. Follow this guy.
Also, seize endowments. This is ridiculous.
Lastly, looks like you're giving your DNA to H1Bs.
New: Apple and Google have directed users to dozens of nudifying apps, per new report. The apps, found by searching "undress" or "nudify," have earned $122 million and were downloaded 483 million times. w/ @byJuliaLove https://t.co/lkSBBm4gIx
The Balance Act officially passed in Utah—and we’re just getting started.
Allie from GRated School & Child First Policy Center highlights one of the biggest wins:
➡️ A new framework for tech use in classrooms
➡️ Built into the USBE model policy
➡️ Every district will adopt a policy based on that model
Now comes the part that matters most.
We need YOU involved to make sure districts adopt the strongest version possible—one that truly restores balance and puts kids first.
Follow along as we work to restore balance to every Utah classroom.

It’s official: the Sheriff’s Office has no report of any threat against UVU or Sharon McMahon.
If there is no credible threat, then it’s wrong to leave these students without a commencement speaker.
They’ve been through so much and deserve a message of healing and hope, a message that encourages them to take what they’ve experienced and use it to make the world a better place.
@UVU should ensure these students still have an inspirational speaker for their commencement—someone who can show up for them in this moment and help mark it with meaning, hope, and encouragement for how to move forward.

Wise words from @RepBurgessOwens to Sharon McMahon:
“Withdrawing from this engagement would not be an admission of wrongdoing. It would be an act of judgment …. [I]t would show respect. Respect for the memory of a man whose life was taken on that campus. Respect for his family, including a wife and children who continue to live with that loss. And respect for the students who deserve a commencement ceremony centered on their achievement, not overshadowed by controversy.”
