So, this is what the #STEPN OG community gets—another vague "coming soon" for a yearly event 🙄. Many were hoping for concrete information about the future, but again, nothing substantial has been shared, despite the community's vocal requests. A vague promise is not what people are waiting for.

How many times have we heard "next time" or "coming soon"? Marathon mode, resilience gems, Rainbow+, making STEPN great again, and more.

It feels like the focus is on a small group making significant profits from something that was supposed to bridge web2 and STEPN OG (and I’m happy for them—it’s deserved). Meanwhile, others are struggling to earn by walking for others with no investment, while the larger community, who’ve invested time and money into building STEPN, feels neglected. Everything seems focused on GO that cost $10k+ to enter, leaving many of us behind. - Especially with the history of what happened with the launch of STEPN OG.

What the community really needs is information, gratitude, and some acknowledgment that we’re not forgotten.

As for the additional point: I don’t mind that some people are making money or selling shoes for high prices. The issue is that STEPN OG was supposed to onboard web2 users, yet very few web2 newcomers will drop $10k+ for their first web3 experience. That’s just unrealistic.

We were told the plan was to onboard web2 users into the game. If that’s true, why not start with more sneakers, making it easier for OG players to build houses and bring in web2 users to try #Move2Earn?

My frustration isn’t with the product but with being told one thing and given another. If you can’t deliver, don’t make promises you can’t keep.

STEPN GO Haus Update 🏠
🔹 The Haus System is now live, making it easier than ever for anyone to join the app using Activation Codes
🔹 Main goal: help onboarding Web2 users into STEPN GO
🔹 Roles in the Haus System:
1️⃣ Buddy: Alpha Testers start as Buddies, with full access except for Haus management. A Buddy can become a Host by completing specific quests.
2️⃣ Guest: Guests can easily get started with an Activation Code. They can renew Sneaker rental or start fresh with a new code. Energy and earnings are shared with the Host.
3️⃣ Host: Hosts can lend or gift Sneakers, share Energy, and generate Activation Codes. They can also level up rented Sneakers. However, once you become a Host, there's no going back to being a Guest or Buddy.

We also improved the login process by adding a new Passkey feature! You can now create your Passkey and log in faster than ever in STEPN GO ✨

Activation Code System 🔐
🔹 As STEPN GO gains traction, Activation Codes will become more valuable and initially reserved for close connections. Over time, these codes will gradually become more accessible, eventually opening up to the wider community.
🔹 The scarcity of Activation Codes will drive demand for Sneakers, encouraging more users to become Hosts to meet the growing need for access.
🔹 Strategic Growth: Expect a phased approach to code availability over the next year, with codes being shared more widely as the community grows.

Beta Testing 🔜
🔹 Beta Testing kicks off soon, bringing the fully decentralised on-chain marketplace and a DEX with it
🔹 Someone said on-chain module? 👀
🔹 Access the Beta by getting an Activation Code from Hosts or during offline and online events
🔹 Then, buy Sneakers on the marketplace once the Beta test goes live

Alpha Testing Recap 🎮
🔹 Optimised Onboarding: We've enhanced the user onboarding experience to make it smoother and more intuitive for new players
🔹 Enhanced Features: The share screen and fitness level features have been optimised based on user feedback
🔹 New Pathways: We've also implemented new pathways for players transitioning between Buddy, Guest, and Host roles, addressing a need we hadn’t anticipated before

The community’s input has been invaluable, with many positive comments and constructive suggestions helping us refine the game. We’ll continue to seek and incorporate feedback as we move into the next phase.

STEPN GO Roadmap 🎯
After stabilising the open beta, we’ll focus on building out the Mystery Box, Raw Stone, and Gem systems. Here’s how it will differ from STEPN:
🔹 Users will need to choose what they want to earn, such as selecting between GGT or MB
🔹 The number of MB slots can increase from 4 to 8, but this will be a paid function
🔹  Only Level 1 Raw Stones of different types will drop, with higher MB levels leading to higher quantities
🔹 Raw Stones can be levelled up but can’t be used directly. Once cut into Gems, they can be used, but further levelling up won’t be possible.

G-SHOCK Partnership ⌚
🔹 We’ve partnered with @GSHOCK_OFFICIAL, the famous CASIO watch brand, to launch the first-ever STEPN GO Genesis Sneakers

Q: Can a Guest with an existing Sneaker (won via a Giveaway, for example) still receive an invitation code from a Host via the Haus system? What happens to their existing Sneaker?

A: We are designing a new process for the next update:

Once you become a Host, you cannot return to Guest/Buddy status and rent a Sneaker from someone else.

Guests and Buddies (whether it’s their first time, a second-time guest, an Alpha tester with one Sneaker, or users gifted two Sneakers by a Host) can still input an Activation Code to become a Guest until the agreement expires or is renewed.

Q: Are the Sneakers won in the Alpha Draw and previous giveaways soulbound?

A: Yes, they are soulbound.

Q: Can Soulbound Sneakers be rented to Guests?

A: No, Soulbound Sneakers cannot be rented out to Guests.

Q: If I open the Shoeboxes I won during the Alpha Testing once the Uncommon Sneakers are available, do I have a chance to get an Uncommon Sneaker?

A: Technically yes, but you’ll miss out on a lot of fun that comes with the current setup.

Q: Does a Guest have a fitness level? If not, what is their earnings rate?

A: Guests do not have a fitness level. Their earnings rate is always 100%.

Q: Are there any plans to implement STEPN GO on smartwatches?

A: Yes, we’re planning on it. (🤯)

Q: Will there be a period of time when the game will be unavailable between the end of the Alpha Test and the start of the Beta Test?

A: No, the game is live right now and we’ll make sure you have enough time to use your Energy after the Beta Test update to maintain your Fitness Level.

Q: Minting with same-side Sneakers was enabled for a limited time, but for users with only 2 Energy daily, they won’t be able to mint during the Alpha Test due to time constraints. Is there a chance to extend this period?

A: We could extend the time. The goal is to produce as many Sneakers as possible, so putting a limit on minting wouldn’t align with our objectives.
