@Billie_T No, disagree. Smart spending is utilising the funds available to maximise the best improvement to the team possible. Having some lacklustre mentality on cost ends up with buying Solanke type players… aka dogshit
@Billie_T Your point was you don’t care about the price and it being linked to levy reign scaring the fan base.Logically it matters what we spend when we have so many problem areas. If we spunk the budget on few players, we’ll still have massive problems next season. We need smart spending
@Billie_T I’m not saying we can’t compete with other teams financially. I’m saying there isn’t unlimited funds - same as other. We aren’t going to drop 11x £70m transfers this summer. We will have a budget even if a big one e.g. £250-300m etc but has to cover a lot of improvements.
@Thfc_RR VDV, Sensi, Van Hecke, Danso - not a bad set of 4 centre backs. 2 that are very technical and press resistant, 2 that are more powerful and quicker / stronger. Gives us different options
@WorldofHotspur@gloryglorytott The fan base wasn’t gushing over Scott 2 seasons ago, which is where gray is today. Where was the noise about buying Scott from the championship instead of Gray if you thought that highly of him? It’s time and developement, Scott’s a good player, but comparing the two is pointless
@gloryglorytott@WorldofHotspur We bought gray 2 seasons ago, Alex scott wasn’t pulling up trees at that point. The difference is Scott played under a good manager and developed, where as Gray didn’t. Comparing a purchase from 2 seasons ago vs a player today is nonsensical as there is no direct comparison.
