Great to see Foreign Minister Bourita.
Our partnership delivers for both, ahead of World Cup 2030.
We discussed restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, & the 2007 Moroccan autonomy plan – the most credible, viable & pragmatic basis for peace in Western Sahara.
Sadly out of Egypt for the opening of the #grandegyptianmuseum today but loved this joint Egyptian Embassy / British Museum celebration of the big day.
The GEM is a must see addition to Egypt’s staggering heritage - visit if you can!
My profound thanks to Germany for hosting today's crucial meeting. I extend my gratitude to all members of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya for meeting in Berlin since the last meeting in 2021. A collective commitment to Libya's future is not merely appreciated; it is absolutely essential.
Our highest priority remains clear: we must rally the international community to fully support a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned, UN-facilitated political process. The Libyan people's demands for unified and legitimate institutions, peace, stability, and prosperity are unequivocal. This meeting represents a critical step forward in forging the international support required to achieve these essential aspirations.

Yesterday, the UK joined the Global Alliance for the Two-State Solution meeting on UNRWA in Cairo.
We reaffirm our support for UNRWA’s UN mandate to aid Palestinians & its crucial work in Gaza & the West Bank.
We thank @MFAEgypt for hosting.
I welcome warmly the news of the appointment of Ms Hanna Tetteh as the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya. 🇬🇧 looks forward to continuing our close partnership with @UNSMILibya in support of an inclusive political settlement for 🇱🇾.
I love wiggly paths with their forgotten micro-histories of bumps, puddles and stones turning our feet this way and that.
Simple charms on a winter’s day.
'After many meetings, as well as private negotiations, they dispatched me away with full satisfaction'.
400 years since my ancestor, Sir Kenelm Digby, was negotiating in Algiers, very pleased to be visiting and once again working to strengthen 🇬🇧 🇩🇿 ties.

Moving ceremony of remembrance at the immaculate @CWGC cemetery in Heliopolis. Great to see 7 schools laying wreaths alongside over 30 nations and organisations.

Delighted to be here representing the UK in Egypt… more work needed on the Arabic!
أنا مبسوطة بتمثيل المملكة المتحدة في مصر... لكن دلوقتي لازم تحسين لغتي العربية! 🇬🇧🇪🇬
Moonlight illuminates Cairo and the Mediterranean on a mostly clear night.
We were up late last night sleep shifting in preparation for undocking and return to Earth in the next few days. Cairo at night is one of my favorite views. I am happy the timing worked out to see it one more time before we depart.
There was lightning over Africa as we approached Cairo so of course pictures were taken. Got lucky and captured at least two sprites. Future post.
