@LShainia I remember I would get into trouble if I checked my phone ONCE during class. These kids probably aren't learning anything from their teachers.
"Today's teens- regardless of their personal levels of participation- are coming of age in an era defined by easy access to information and mediated communication." (Pg. 211) #EDFN#IWantItNow
"Using the internet and mobile phones to coordinate and communicate, activists have banded together and engaged different constituencies to resist political regimes." (Pg. 207) #EDFN#LivingOnline
"Some teens who are seeking to be public are enamored by the stories presented by media, including the "reality" of reality TV, the rich narratives of exploratory youth in novels, and the raucous adventures of celebrities." (Pg. 205) #EDFN#RealityTvIsFake
"Rather than fighting to reclaim the places and spaces that earlier cohorts had occupied, many teens have taken a different approach: they've created their own publics." (Pg. 201) #EDFN#OnlineLiving
"I don't like dealing with things face to face because it's really easy to hide behind your phone." (6:22) This is what irritates me about social media, it eliminates face to face interaction with others. Everyone also thinks they can say whatever they want.
First Impression: Younger kids are too engulfed in the world of social media. In my opinion they are too worried about what other people are doing and how many likes/ comments they are getting, instead of what is going on in their own lives. #EDFN

@Mlsanto80335703 Sometimes people say something they don't really mean when acting on impulse, in some cases it results in an argument that gets blown out of proportion.
"The power to circulate information and content is widely acknowledged as a hallmark affordance of digital technologies and environments." (Pg. 18) #Rundel#EDFN
"Consider all of the information created from the dawn of human civilization up to the year 2003. In 2010, Google Executive, Eric Schmidt, estimated that we now create that much information every two days." (Pg. 12) #wat#Rundel#EDFN
