Chancellor Rachel Reeves says that 'the £1.3bn is for infrastructure. It is for the roads and a new railway station.'

🚨🦉 Important Announcement🦉🚨
A new friend of Sheffield Wednesday and the Supporters Trust, who prefers to remain anonymous, has been incredibly impressed by the outpouring of support for the effort to raise money for this important cause and has made an incredibly generous pledge to match every gift, up to £35,000 raised by supporters towards this effort.
We’re currently on £27,910, meaning we need to raise the final £7,090 to unlock the full £35,000 contribution.
If we do, a £35,000 supporter-led campaign becomes a £70,000 investment in Sheffield Wednesday supporters and young people across our community.
That means more season tickets, more match tickets, more mascot experiences, more shirts, and the chance to reach even more children who dream of being part of Sheffield Wednesday but may never otherwise get the opportunity. It means creating memories with parents, grandparents and friends that will last a lifetime, helping young people feel connected to their club, their city and their community. The donor has recognised just how important family and community are in Sheffield, and wants to help open the door for the next generation of Wednesdayites.
The donor recognised something we’ve all seen: when Wednesdayites are given the chance to help one another, they step forward. In discussing the donation, they impressed upon us a simple message:
“We’re All Wednesday Aren’t We?”
That spirit is exactly what Sheffield Wednesday is about.
This fanbase has already achieved something remarkable.
Now we have the opportunity to turn £35,000 into £70,000.

Actually proper triggered me this 😂
Imagine a Man United player doing that? Wouldn’t happen.
Screams tinpot mentality and that we’re just happy to be part of it all. #NUFC
@MattHall1974 We don't just need starters though, we need numbers and strength in depth. If wages are right, he's available for say 15 starts through the season and then comes on as sub on other occasions, I don't see how that isn't good business considering his experience?
As expected, fans overriding reaction is one of negativity. People need a reality check that we aren't gonna be splashing cash or making big name signings. A move like this, where it's a free transfer with good experience, is a smart one. Mix in some youth and I'm happy #swfc
🚨As first reported by @ramy_abousetta, understand Andy Rinomhota to be one of many players of consideration to Owls ahead of summer.
Lots of moving parts, difficult to see direction / likely strength of interest at this early stage.

@MattHall1974 Prior to taking compassionate leave at Reading this season, he’d played near enough 90 games in 3 seasons for both Cardiff and Rotherham. It's not really a bad injury record is it? He picked up an injury in April but I think fans are over exaggerating his injuries
@bensaavage Just because we don't have a cap on wages doesn't mean we shouldn't look to make smart / sensibly priced transfers. Obviously we will look at a plethora of players, but it doesn't mean we should pass up on players who bring Champ / L1 experience as we flesh the squad out
@peter_w0730 Prior to taking compassionate leave at Reading, he’d played near enough 90 games in 3 season for both Cardiff and Rotherham. That’s not exactly “hardly playing”?
@Brotonswfc He missed majority of matches from December to April on compassionate leave and picked up an injury towards the end of the season. Not exactly like he's some mega injury prone player who's not played for 4 seasons?
@jomiln_762@tommyuto It's ONE name linked to us 🤣 we need a tonne of players coming in, but you're overreacting because it's not a fancy name or cost a fee. Reading fans want him to stay, he's got good experience and, despite an injury issue last season, would be a good addition
@jomiln_762@tommyuto We're crying out for experience as we build numbers up in the squad. Don't be expecting big names or cash being splashed, that's not what we need.
@AdamKettle17950 I'd rather us honestly have an extra season or two putting the right players in place to actually go up and have a steady championship season, rather than be battling to stay up again. Fans' obsession with going straight back up has no thought process, just "we're too big for L1"
Any Wednesday fan seriously putting us in top 2 next season needs the biggest, fattest reality check. I'd be happy to just make top 10. Absolutely massive rebuild needed, a load of incomings, it ain't happening overnight. Would love to be wrong like #swfc
@ToonOwls The squad is totally different to the last time we went down. Most senior players stayed (Bannan, Windass, Pato etc). Need a LOT more quality replaced this time round is
