Some news🚨
Honoured to be awarded the 2023 not-for-profit @FulbrightAUS scholarship. Supported by The Australian Scholarships Foundation. Heading to the 🇺🇸 at the end of the year to study prison reform and recidivism.

Finally, and the clear winner was the Last Lion Trilogy by William Manchester (the final volume assisted by Paul Reid). Despite its length (~3000pages) you’ll be sad when it ends. Much like Caro, Manchester was a master storyteller and had an excellent story to work with.
My 2025 reading list, (and yes I’m running out of ideas how to pose with books.)
Subject matter goes to prove that when you hit 40 you must choose between smoking meats or learning about WW2. I have clearly stuck by my choices.
2nd place (& it was a tight contest) goes Bending Adversity, Japan and the Art of Survival by David Pilling. A great history of Japan starting with Fukushima and then tracing back to the black ships. Well worth it for anyone even remotely interested in Japan.
NSW Housing Minister Rose Jackson continues to be asked about her use of ministerial drivers.
I don't think the Coalition was expecting this answer though #nswpol
@Tallawanta G’day Pat
Sorry if I came off as arrogant. I was really just trying to say that I think when these wind turbines ultimately get built they’ll end up being much much smaller and unobtrusive than people fear right now.
Cheers
The Opposition Leader needs to stop freelancing on defence and foreign policy and back the Government’s position when it comes to China - my take last night on @SharriMarkson@SkyNewsAust#auspol

Tonight, the SA/NT branch of the @McKellInstitute is officially launched.
The McKell Institute is a public policy think tank which can contribute to South Australia’s public policy debate more broadly - and I’m pleased to be able to join tonight’s offical launch.
The thing that has absolutely sent me about the Woolies CEO interview is he showed up in his dumb polyester polo shirt like he’s just an ordinary guy but he’s wearing a signet ring.
When you spend months on a report you wonder if anyone will read it. That’s why it was a thrill to meet the White House’s head of domestic policy Neera Tandern & brief her about the initiatives underway in prison reform.
Thanks to @FulbrightAUS for the opportunity!
#1 for this year is Cleopatra. A brilliant history about a fascinating woman - and who doesn’t want to think some more about the Roman Empire?! @stacyschiff
