HOMECOMING WEEKEND: @SCState1896’s Homecoming week continues on Saturday as @SCState_FB plays host to @NorfolkStateFB!
Daytime temperatures will be comparable to what we have seen all week (upper 60s/lower 70s).
The only difference will be a gustier wind.

Multiple rounds of moderate to major coastal flooding are likely over the next week for the southeast GA/SC coast. For context, check out the historical average flood duration by flood category for Charleston and Fort Pulaski. #scwx#gawx#chswx#savwx
@Live5News Here are our high tide times (at the Charleston Harbor) through early Monday morning. Please be mindful of potential road closures this weekend and next week. #scwx@Live5News
Friday update: We are still concerned about coastal flooding this weekend & next week. Moderate (up to 1') coastal flooding is possible with high tides Saturday. Major coastal flooding (over 1') is possible with high tide Sunday morning and Monday morning. #scwx@Live5News
⚠️The risk for a significant, long-duration coastal flood event for coastal areas of the South Carolina Lowcountry and Southeast Georgia is increasing. Moderate to major coastal flooding is likely this weekend into early next week. Take time to prepare! #gawx#scwx#chswx#savwx
Some parents are ditching plates and silverware for a “dump dinner,” pouring the meal straight onto a foil-covered table and letting the kids dig in. For these families, it’s less about manners and more about making memories.
The face of someone who kept me up all night because even though he knows how to get under the blankets, he prefers I lift them for him. So, he scratches my arms until I wake up and lift the blankets. 😈
NEW: Early-morning Coastal Flood Advisory for Charleston County and coastal Colleton County from 5:00 AM - 8:00 AM. Coastal flooding is possible a few hours before and a few hours after high tide. Up to 1/2 ft. saltwater inundation is possible. #scwx@live5news
El Niño is underway and is strengthening. There is a greater than 90% chance of a very strong event during the Northern Hemisphere fall and winter 2026-27.
Strong El Niño winters favor wetter and cooler than normal conditions along the Southeast coast. https://t.co/MdfNbw1Wvt
FRIDAY: A fantastic forecast returns to the Lowcountry, mainly owing to a strong area of high pressure nearby! Morning temperatures will likely begin in the 40s and 50s for most, followed by afternoon highs in the lower 70s. Enjoy the final day of the work and school week! #SCWX
N.C. 12 is still closed from Basnight Bridge to Rodanthe after overwash has caused more damage and dune loss. NCDOT does not know when the road will reopen. Emergency ferries between Rodanthe-Stumpy Point and Hatteras-Ocracoke are running. Crews will rebuild dunes as tides allow.
Early #FirstAlert for this weekend & next week. #KingTides return to the Lowcountry. ⚠️ Moderate coastal flooding is possible in Charleston on Saturday morning. Moderate-to-Major coastal flooding may occur on Sunday morning. Expect road closures downtown. #scwx@Live5News
