✨The rumours were true ✨ I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be joining the adventure of a lifetime on #ImACeleb 🐍🕷️Tune into @ITV every night from Sunday 19th November to see how I get on… wish me luck! 😱🇦🇺
If this is Xabi ball….i don’t want it. Worse than we’ve ever played against arsenal. No control. No ideas, just counter attacking hope on the attackers. Shocking team building
I think she was Athena and the beheading was symbolic of what was happening to the gods when they cut off the head of her statue. This is the twilight of the gods and I think it’s almost showed the Greeks turning their backs on them and the old world as they know it of gods and monsters coming to an end. That’s why he almost apologised at the end of the movie to her, as he had a massive part to play. I actually found it kind of sad 😂
It’s a movie so even in almost 3 hours things have to get squeezed. The fact I got to see a Nolan epic about a subject I love makes me happy! I love age of mythology the computer game and that’s not historically accurate but I enjoy that 😂 you don’t have to need to to be one hundred percent source material to still enjoy something. Read Stephen fry’s myths books they’re unreal! From a nerd to a nerd!
Went to see the odyssey today…as a Greek mythology nerd I was more than apprehensive. I’ve also obviously seen the discourse online and as someone who is pretty down the middle with this stuff I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I don’t particularly like things straying too far from the source material and I don’t like shoehorning things in for the sake of it, but……i LOVED it!!! Yes the armour isn’t of the time period and the accents are American, and that would normally bother me but it just didn’t. The movie was so much bigger than those things I didn’t even really notice. I thought the acting was amazing. Tom Holland I thought was a coming of age performance, I’m not sure he’ll play that kind of young character again after this. Robert Patterson (traditionally not my favourite actor) I thought was phenomenal. He needs to play more villains, matt Damon I now can’t see anyone else playing Odysseus, and say what you want about the casting of Elliot page…firstly he’s not Achilles and I agree that would have been an odd casting he’s playing sinon and actually is the perfect choice for that character in this particular film and NAILS it! Nolan does this amazing thing where he makes it seem like the gods really did exist on our planet but at the same time makes it seem like this is fantasy. It’s dark and real but with just the right amount of myth. I personally thought the score was so good, I must admit I don’t know much about movie scores but it felt massive to me but as I said I’m just kind of an average punter. It’s also a little bit sad weirdly. Without spoilers it kind of signals the end of the era of the gods as if you know your Greek mythology the Bronze Age comes to an end in the near future. I think Nolan nails this transition soooo well. What a movie…loved it, and if you’re just a normal dude or girl who likes this stuff trust me….go and see it 🙌🏻
@viriathus_eu Because it just didn’t bother me that much. I think the film outweighed the language. It’s the same reason I wasn’t really fussed about the armour not being of its time. It’s not super accurate but neither is age of mythology the game 😂 and I loved that!
@CarlsbadKnight Unplug yourself brother. The world isn’t far left far right and a constant battle. It’s full of normal people who went to watch a movie and liked it. Breathe 😂❤️
@KamilFila4 The reason Achilles isn’t in the movie (as epic as that would have been) is because it makes Antinous, Robert Pattersons character more of a villain with sinon. It’s literally for the villains story arc.
Liam Rosenior is absolutely the perfect figurehead for this project. Capable of delivering pseudointellectual soundbites that sound impressive to very dumb people but in reality completely clueless when it comes to delivering wins.
A fluffy end to a beautiful journey 🥹❤️ thank you to everyone out there who donated and/or supported this challenge for unicef. You’re hero’s you really are. Love you
