some adorable neighbors came by to shovel and all I have is a $100 bill”
So we moved to a small house in southie back in December and because of the cold haven’t met ANYONE. 3 neighbor kids show up today willing to shovel our front walk.
My husband and I were hiking when I spotted an elderly man collapsed near the trail. My husband said, “Leave him. We don’t know who he is.” But I called the Rangers anyway. The next day, the Rangers contacted me. The old man had accused me of theft. Confused and hurt, I agreed to meet him. When I arrived, I was stunned to see my husband quietly handing him an envelope.
Three neighborhood kids showed up at my door wearing braces and offered to shovel my driveway for $100. The strange part was that none of them had any change.
We’d moved into the house two weeks earlier, and the snow that morning was heavy enough that I hadn’t even finished clearing the front steps.
The oldest boy, maybe fourteen, did most of the talking.
“Sir, we can do the whole driveway and the sidewalk. One hundred dollars.”
