Think Chesterfield have been the most impressive L2 side that haven’t gone up the last two years.
Certainly a team that suits how George plays. Must’ve been a good offer because there had to have been at least some L1 interest.

✍️ We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder George McEachran on a two-year deal.
Welcome to Chesterfield, George 💙
This deal is subject to relevant approvals.

Everyone at Grimsby Town Football Club is devastated to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of our Player Recruitment Lead, Alex Hughes.
Rest in peace, Alex. Once a Mariner, always a Mariner.
#GTFC
A blow for #GTFC - it was no real secret that they wanted to bring him back, but finances/location always big pull factors…
GK signing is the most important one of the summer for Town. Can’t have another year of uncertainty in that position when going for promotion!
✍️ We are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Jackson Smith has joined the Valiants from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
Welcome to Vale Park, Jackson!

A move closer to home is on the cards for McEachran, no doubt, and the other releases don't come as a big surprise.
Ty Warren deserves a mention for his input over two seasons. Gutted for JDS - more than enough quality for this level on his day, but injuries are a killer. #GTFC
We can confirm our retained and released list, following the conclusion of the 2025/2026 campaign.

Jeez, that is a sickener. Great fight back on the night from #GTFC, and it seemed the tide had turned in their favour again at a crucial time.
Salford take their one big chance in extra time, and that's that. Disappointing for sure, but a season to reflect positively on in time.
Changes have made a big difference for #GTFC, sending this tie into extra-time...
Looked bereft of ideas before that, playing into the hands of Salford for the most part.
A bit of composure in possession was all that was needed!
Not sure what the game plan is here from #GTFC, certainly not asking enough questions of the Salford backline.
Need to show some more bravery in possession to play through the Salford press. Easy to suck the intensity out of the game when the ball is going out of play so often.
Salford showed in the first leg that they have toughened up since their last regular-season meeting with #GTFC...
They're not likely to change their approach much tonight, so Town need to find a way to adapt to make it to Wembley!

Second half was a tough watch. Salford were always going to try and frustrate but #GTFC played into their hands.
It’s only half time and Town have travelled well this term, so will still fancy their chances, but we need to see more of what has got them to this position.
Mnoga’s offside and in the way Smith’s line of sight.
Takes a deflection on the way, but you’d think Smith would still get there if he saw it all the way.

It was the dream start for #GTFC as Staunton volleyed in the opener in the first minute - but Salford responded well.
They got back on level before Town could settle and had the edge physically in key areas before their controversial second.
Town with work to do at the restart.
Mixture of nerves and excitement now for tomorrow…
Hard not to fancy #GTFC to go all the way given their table-topping form since Christmas, but we all know play-off football is different!

Seventh-place finish for #GTFC in the end following the draw at Tranmere...
Now the fun can begin with Salford City coming in the play-off semi-finals. First leg at Blundell Park on Sunday, May 10.
