ATTENTION!!!
Dear Abia citizens,
Are you aware that 10 projects valued at about ₦26.03 billion were listed for Abia under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in the 2025 ERGP?
These are significant projects, including billions allocated for roads, bridges, streetlights, a 50-bed hospital, school renovation and an academic complex.
The schedule includes ₦4 billion for feeder roads and bridges in Bende, including the 7km Ugwueke–Akaeze road; ₦3.21 billion for the Bende–Ozuitem–Igbere–Item road with streetlights; ₦2.5 billion each for the Amaokwe–Akanu–Okai road and Amaokai–Okoko Item farm road at Ugwueke; and ₦2 billion each for the Umuhu–Abriba road and selected roads in Bende Town.
It also lists ₦3 billion for a 50-bed hospital in Bende, ₦2 billion for school renovation, fencing and equipping in BFC, and ₦1.82 billion for an academic complex.
But a budget line is not the same as a completed project.
Abia residents deserve to know where these projects are, who is executing them, when work started and what has been delivered.
Residents in Ugwueke, Akaeze, Bende Town, Ozuitem, Igbere, Item, Umuhu and Abriba can help establish the facts by visiting these locations and documenting what is actually on the ground—completed, ongoing, abandoned or untouched.
Ask your representatives and the relevant implementing agencies for the contractors, contract sums, project locations, commencement dates and current status of the listed ERGP projects.
₦26.03 billion allocated or captured for Abia should be traceable to actual projects and communities.
If the projects exist, let the public see them. If they have not commenced, Abia citizens deserve to know why.

Seun: We have four refineries, and none is producing anything… What explanation is this government able to give Nigerians?
Minister Lokpobiri: The last brief I got from the GCEO [Bayo Ojulari] is that it's very unfortunate that the Port Harcourt refinery, Warri refinery, and Kaduna refinery are not producing today. But new partnerships are being negotiated with some Chinese companies to come and invest their money and see how they can rehabilitate.

Forbes has revalued Aliko Dangote above $50 billion, adding about $20 billion in one move, triggered not by Monday's IPO but by July's private placement, which finally gave the refinery a price.
