@NemoEntropy@ciupko_klupko@alchemillatears Which ending do you mean? iirc no sh game notes endings as bad or good except SH1. What I consider the 'bad' ends of f are the first one you have to get, and the one where Hinako's face is cut off. I don't think the other ends are much better for Hinako but the game seems to.
@ciupko_klupko@alchemillatears Yeah, I get that's what it was going for but it feels to me like the actual willingness to get married needed more bolstering when it's clear how uncomfortable hinako is for 99% of the game. I really liked the scenes where the two hinakos talk in the later routes though
@KingSavageAxe 7 being my first AC, I didn't like the story but playing 8 I now understand that's just kind of how this franchise works. Still enjoying 8's story more though
The outpouring of ppl defending the first Silent Hill on TL really does warm my heart tbh, we’re all so quick to praise SH 2 & 3 that sometimes I feel like we all forget that SH1 really is THAT fuckin game man
@maraaz_@LordKitaru@MrUnsmileyyy Yep. I was really disappointed when they didn't have more of Claire and Leon's meet-ups through the game, and the B runs are completely inferior to the original. Still, I have triple the hours replaying RE2make than any other RE game.
@jxcn1717@sjsuth@ZenkaiGoose Sure, yeah, that's all true, I just don't know if it attributes to everything because I've simply never seen a finished game percentage *that* high. Silent Hill f, for example, came out not too long ago and is only at 41.9% (though, f has a lot of problems)
@Shad0w105@sjsuth@ZenkaiGoose I thought the default was tank, but I should have remembered they have those modern ones in the steam version. Ironically I think those frustrate people more because they don't mesh with the fixed cameras
@sjsuth@ZenkaiGoose REmake's very easy difficulty is trivial and it only has a 27.7% rate on Steam (yeah yeah tank controls whatever). People just don't finish games at such a high rate on steam, 72% is incredible.
@MasterHamsters It's also not nearly as hard as it seems when the option between classic/casual is presented. Even Thracia with its hard reputation can be managed without losing your mind, especially if you're willing to lose units
@3_gio2@ShadowEliteHD There are a ton of different styles but in previous FE games I've always turtled when the game doesn't punish me for it. Just slow and steady, let the enemy fight your tankiest guys and then make your move.
@Bmoney9722@MasterHamsters@Xeno_Dee It's academic and useless to fight about, I agree. But it's fair to say that casual is a completely different experience and the option betrays a lot of what makes FE FE.
I don't think 'casual players don't think' or whatever but everybody would be better off playing classic.
I don't know why people are dunking on OP. Casual and Classic modes are two different experiences for FE. Otherwise they wouldn't have been separated like that. Contrary to popular belief, single player games also have checks and balances. Lol
@Bmoney9722@MasterHamsters@Xeno_Dee Casual proposes a different experience to the player.
It sells more and that's fine but there is tension between what casual offers (allowing you incredibly suicidal tactics) and a core tenet of old FE (emergent storytelling through unit death or you have to play more safely.)
@xGothamTitanx@fadedandballing@NickPS64 It's just tedious after a lot of tight, well choreographed segments for both Grace and Leon.
I like the rooftop BSAA mortars section or the glass floors, but there was no reason to make it a 3-part fetch quest. Just killed the momentum for me.
@HeavensCheez@ashterissk@invisibroder Classic forcing the player to either deal with the loss of your characters or reset heightens the dramatic experience.
Obviously casual isn't going away, and it's not *wrong* for IS to go in that direction, but there is a conversation that it waters down FE's core tension.
@andresfgp13@emilunagames 30 hours is very different than 100+, also pretty sure you can beat FE7 or FE8 within 20 without much trouble. I like the longer ones like Radiant Dawn but I don't want my SRPGs having genuine JRPG length.
