“It doesn’t matter how many times you went to confession or to mass, or how many rosaries you said … A person will be saved by faith in Christ alone.”
-John MacArthur
I think of the tide when I think of you.
How it leaves and how it returns, acting as if absence were only just another form of presence.
You will go one day. This is the first truth no one tells a mother plainly.
You will walk out of me in stages, first your body, then your hands from mine, then your voice no longer calling my name from every corner of the house.
And I will stand like the shore does, pretending I am not changed each time the water pulls away.
But the sea never really leaves.
It lingers in the salt of the air, in the dampness of the sand.
This is what it is to love you, my child, it is to be reshaped, to be changed, to be touched
People say love is fire.
They are wrong.
Fire consumes and it is done. Water endures, water keeps, water gives, and it remembers the shape of everything it has touched.
And I will remember you, not just as you are, but as you were when you were still tide inside me, when the world had not yet pulled you outward, when you belonged only to the quiet, dark ocean of my body.
Even now, as you run further from me each day, laughing, becoming, I feel the pull of you like the shore feels the sea even at its furthest retreat.
And I know this is how it will always be:
I will be here, waiting, shaped by your leaving, shaped by your existence, waiting for your return.
Jonny Ardavanis responding to the question of whether a woman can teach from the pulpit of a church under the authority of her elders on a Sunday morning:
"Well, listen, the Bible either says women can preach, or they cannot...I would just encourage people, you and I are not allowed to make arbitrary decisions and say, 'You know what, we think she can teach under our authority once a month.'
A woman may be preaching under the authority of her elders, but she is most definitely not preaching under the authority of the New Testament, nor the Holy Spirit who wrote it...
You may be asking, 'Would I leave a church that has a woman preaching, even if under the authority of her elders?' Yes, I would. Yes, I would. I would ask the elders to reconsider their position. I would present to them Scripture.
And you may be asking, 'Why? What's the consequence of this?' Well, the consequence of this is just, it's disobedience. It's in the Bible. What's the consequence? Weak churches.
And when men don't lead, churches die. And when churches break down, the culture breaks down, and you're watching this in our world today. Like in the garden, when you overthrow God's design for the family and for the church, there are disastrous consequences."
“Let the rivers clap their hands,
Let the mountains sing together for joy
Before Yahweh, for He is coming to judge the earth;
He will judge the world with righteousness
And the peoples with equity.”
Psalm 98:8-9
My husband sacrifices his energy, body, time, and money so that I can be home raising our children. I’ll forever be grateful. You can’t make me hate men. Go find one you respect.
“Resolved, to study the scriptures so steadily, constantly and frequently, as that I may find, and plainly perceive myself to grow in the knowledge of the same.” — Jonathan Edwards
This is DNA replication.
God uniquely knitting you together in the womb.
It requires 9 precise molecular machines working in perfect coordination.
Remove 1, and the entire system collapses. Without it, life itself is impossible.
In awe of God’s design.
Could we with ink the ocean fill
and were the skies of parchment made,
were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill
and ev’ry man a scribe by trade,
to write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry;
nor could the scroll contain the whole,
tho' stretched from sky to sky.
“You are going to hear a rumour one day that Voddie Bauckham is no more. Don't you believe it? Because though I die, I will rise with Christ. It will not be the end of me.”
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Voddie Baucham sharing the gospel at the Shepherds Conference 3 years ago: "One day we're glorified and saved from the very presence of sin. That's the gospel we preach."
He is in the presence of Christ and out of the presence of sin. Well done, good and faithful servant.
Less than two hours before Charlie Kirk was killed he said this:
“God works all things for good for those who love Him"
"It's a very freeing and liberating verse for those of us that are Christians … when things can be really bad, God is working it for His good"
Go to church today.
This woman recounts her experience of opening a Bible for the first time following Charlie's passing.
"I know that Charlie Kirk's death woke me up spiritually and now I can't unsee the truth."
Charlie continues to have a positive impact on people's lives and is still leading many to embrace Christianity.
🙏✝️
A good name is better than a good ointment,
And the day of one’s death is better than the day of one’s birth.
It is better to go to a house of mourning
Than to go to a house of feasting,
Because that is the end of every man,
And the living takes it to heart.
Sorrow is better than laughter,
For when a face is sad a heart may be happy.
The mind of the wise is in the house of mourning,
While the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.” (Eccl. 7:1-4)
“When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise.” (Prov. 10:19)
It is tempting to want to close up shop. To say we’re scared. That we can’t do this. That we can’t risk this.
But we know what Charlie would say:
“We don’t back down now. We fight harder. We become braver.
People don’t murder people for telling lies. Fight to protect our right to tell the truth.”
The best comfort of all is knowing that Charlie Kirk knew and proclaimed Jesus as the Son of God. Charlie is in heaven, face to face with his Savior.
You too can guarantee your salvation and celebrate with Charlie in Glory.
The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ DIED and ROSE AGAIN to save sinners. That includes all of us.
If you truly believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, you must truly repent of your sins. Cry out to Him. Believe in Him. Submit to His Lordship.
Salvation is by grace through faith— but it is not a casual or superficial decision. It is a total surrender to the risen Christ.
It is that simple.
The Bible declares:
It is not about how much “good” you do in the world, how kind you are, how much money you give to charity, or how you vote. It is by His own merciful grace, your faith in Him, and your repentance.
This is a righteous war that will now be fought for America on behalf of Charlie.
Rest assured that TPUSA and the entire conservative movement just got bolder, stronger, and more effective than ever.
We will do this for you, Charlie. We are the frontline now.
"I'm just flesh and bone, but more importantly, I'm a soul, and that soul is accountable to one being."
"I've had an unbelievably blessed life... So praise God. I've been all across the world. I've met with world leaders."
"I've flown Air Force One, got to know a president. I have an amazing family, the podcast Turning Point USA... And so you experienced that, and you're like, 'What actually matters?'"
"What matters is your relationship with the divine, your relationship with your family, your kids, and maybe a close collection of friends, and your relationship with the truth."
So much wisdom and taken way too soon. Charlie Kirk will never be forgotten.
Charlie Kirk perfected the art of cordial, compassionate dialogue with his ideological adversaries.
Shame on those benighted—and yes, evil—souls celebrating on social media. Their condemnation is just. But I pray instead (as Charlie would) for their repentance & redemption.
