After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
Although the UN announcement came late, it unequivocally proves that the Israeli government has deliberately manufactured famine in Gaza through systematic starvation policies, the obstruction of humanitarian aid, and the destruction of local food sources.
Today’s joint declaration by the United Nations and international experts, confirming the widespread outbreak of famine in Gaza, is a highly significant step that exposes the reality on the ground. It represents the first such acknowledgment since the start of Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians, in which starvation has been one of its most brutal tools.
According to the IPC report, over 500,000 people in Gaza are experiencing catastrophic conditions (IPC Phase 5), marked by near-total food deprivation, sharply rising malnutrition rates, and excessive mortality from hunger and disease. Another 1.07 million people, representing 54% of Gaza’s population, are in IPC Phase 4 (emergency level), while approximately 396,000 people (20% of the population) are in IPC Phase 3 (crisis level).
Field data collected by Euro-Med Monitor’s team, together with figures from Gaza’s Ministry of Health, reveal a situation far more dire than the IPC estimates, with over 1.5 million people already experiencing severe hunger.
While the Ministry of Health has recorded 271 deaths, including 112 children, caused by starvation and malnutrition, the real toll is likely several times higher due to the near-total collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system under relentless Israeli attacks.
The root cause of the catastrophe is an explicit Israeli policy, openly declared since the second day of the genocide, when Israeli officials stated that there would be “no food and no water for #Gaza’s population.” Since then, a comprehensive system has been implemented to block aid and restrict access to supplies, using starvation as a deliberate weapon against civilians.
Israel’s actions amount to acts of genocide, given the deliberate creation of life-threatening conditions leading to mass death, combined with explicit knowledge of the consequences and repeated international warnings, which Israel has ignored.
The UN’s official declaration of famine in #Gaza requires an immediate response from the international community, particularly the UN General Assembly, by invoking its powers under the Uniting for Peace resolution to establish a peacekeeping force that would halt the ongoing crimes, ensure unrestricted access to crossings, secure food and medicine supplies, and protect civilians. Those responsible for the catastrophe, affecting more than two million people in Gaza, must be held accountable.

With almost no media coverage, Israel is obliterating Zaitoun, #Gaza's largest neighbourhood, using all kinds of weaponry against its civilian population
The refusal of international and continental sports federations to suspend Israel’s membership, 22 months after its perpetration of genocide in the #Gaza Strip, constitutes a blatant violation of the values and principles they claim to uphold. It reflects a selective, double-standard application of the rules governing the participation of states, clubs, and individuals in international and continental competitions, whether official or friendly.
The International Federation of Association Football @FIFAcom, the Union of European Football Associations @UEFA, the International Olympic Committee @iocmedia, and other international federations continue to refrain from acting against Israel, despite its killing of 664 Palestinian athletes since the start of the genocide in the Gaza Strip in October 2023 and its violations of regulations and standards on human rights, peace, and non-discrimination.
Since the start of its genocide, Israel has targeted all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip, including the sports sector. According to the Palestinian Football Association, the Israeli army has destroyed 264 sports facilities, 184 completely and 81 partially.
Sports activities in the Gaza Strip have been completely suspended since October 2023 due to the widespread and systematic targeting of sports infrastructure, which has been almost entirely destroyed.
Athletes have been killed or, like most of Gaza’s population, forced to devote their time and effort to finding shelter and food, amid ongoing Israeli military attacks, repeated displacement, and starvation and blockade policies that have left the entire population food insecure and claimed the lives of approximately 220 people to date.
🧵Over the past 22 months, Israel has killed around one Palestinian athlete per day and destroyed nearly every sports facility in #Gaza. Yet @FIFAcom and @UEFA, have refused to suspend Israel or take action, a response they had no hesitation applying to other countries
Here is more⤵️
Israel’s overnight killing of 6 Palestinian journalists in #Gaza is not simply a war crime or a crime against humanity, it is a central tool in carrying out genocide and a calculated weapon used to execute this campaign
2\ Israel's fabricated documents about Anas al-Sharif are also contradictory.
They incoherently list him once as a Nukhba unit (elite) militant, then as a "soldier", then a "group commander", then a "combatant"
His date of recruitment is his 17th birthday, what a coincidence? He blew off the candles then went to pick up a gun? (Hamas' membership age is 18, then it takes years to join the Qassam brigades).
🚨Israel's own fabricated document about Anas al-Sharif incriminates them 100%
It claims he was wounded in a training explosion in early 2023 & was left incapacitated & unfit for military service with "extremely weak hearing in the left ear, weak eye sight" & constant migraines & headaches
In other words, Anas, per Israel itself, had zero military role during the entire period of the genocide. Yet he was murdered so openly for the crime of being a journalist!
Amnesty strongly condemns Israel’s deliberate killing of journalists in an air strike on a media tent in occupied Gaza City.
Anas al-Sharif and his colleagues have been the eyes and voices of Gaza. Starved and exhausted, they continued to bravely report from the frontlines, despite death threats and immense grief.
No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed than Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
There must be an independent and impartial investigation into the killings of Palestinian journalists, with justice and full reparation for their families. States must urgently act to bring an end to Israel’s genocide now.
