The Israeli military forced families to evacuate Al Nasr Hospital, leaving behind their premature babies in the intensive care unit. Israel refused to release the babies.
The decomposed bodies of those babies have been found during this truce.
In Arabic when a Palestinian is killed they are called "Shaheed" (translated to martyr in English) but the Arabic term actually comes from the connotation and meaning of "the witness"
i.e. the body becomes the witness to the crime of slaughter and injustice.
“Why don’t Palestinians just evacuate?” Do you hear yourselves? They can’t, and even if they could, the questions that should be asked: Why doesn’t the Israeli state stop its bombs? Why doesn’t the world sanction the occupation? Why doesn’t it step in to dismantle apartheid?
In the immediate aftermath of horror, we need voices for de-escalation and peace.
Instead, our political leaders have given the green light for the annihilation of Gaza.

Today during yoga, the instructor spoke about trees becoming their strongest in autumn. Because they aren’t bearing fruit or producing leaves, all of their energy is pushed down into the roots. So what externally appears as death, is actually the catalyst for new life.
I met a 78 year old man who recently started sleeping at a park I take supplies to.
He broke his back working construction. When he got out of the hospital, he had been evicted.
A lifetime of his belongings had been thrown away by his landlord.
Homelessness is that easy.
It STILL shocks me that the Nation’s Air Ambulance service is funded as a charity by donations from you good people while the Govt has a plane, the Royal Family has a train & Boris Johnson has an honours list
Gutted. Thaer al-Rahal was one of 750 migrants who boarded a trawler & ended up in one of the Mediterranean's deadliest shipwrecks. He needed to get to Europe to earn money to save his 4 yr old Khalid, who has leukemia & needs a bone marrow transplant. Thaer did not survive. 💔
I know 2 kids who are of the same age and applying to different universities at the moment. One comes from a family with supportive loving parents and the other one comes from a dysfunctional family with 2 parents who refuse to talk to one another n are caught up in (1/n)
@pierrefleury_ I watched my mom do the same thing my dad did, PLUS cook/clean/book appointments. It turned her bitter. They were both bitter. But it definitely wasn’t an equal amount of effort on both parts.
The UK state pension, worst in the world.
But still too high so must retire at 68, also the highest in the world.
But that’s not enough so must defund social care and the NHS so you die sooner.
Do you understand, you are worthless to them.

Awful. Awful way to die. The anxiety they must have had getting on to it in the first place. The noises the vessel inevitably made before it tore apart. The families not knowing what happened, and may never truly know.
Those poor migrants. They only wanted a better life.
