WORLD ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS DAY – JUNE 15
Today, the Brantford Police Service recognizes World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and encourages our community to help protect older adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Elder abuse can take many forms, including:
▪️ Financial abuse and fraud scams
▪️ Physical abuse
▪️ Emotional or psychological abuse
▪️ Neglect
Seniors are often targeted by scammers through impersonation scams, grandparent scams, banking scams, and fake prize or investment opportunities.
Know the warning signs:
✔️ Unexplained financial losses
✔️ Sudden changes to banking or legal documents
✔️ Unusual fear, anxiety, or isolation
✔️ Pressure to make quick financial decisions
How you can help:
• Stay connected with older family members, friends, and neighbours.
• Talk about fraud prevention and personal safety.
• Report suspected abuse or exploitation.
• Remind seniors that legitimate organizations will never pressure them to send money or share personal information.
Everyone deserves to live with dignity, respect, and safety. By raising awareness and speaking up, we can help protect vulnerable members of our community

This is what a lot of customers of @Rogers@Distributel@TekSavvyNetwork@startca and #EBOX are all facing in the N2B (Kitchener, ON) area. Some of us, like me, are paying for 1000/50, however #Rogers is saying there is nothing wrong as my modem is to spec. #CRTC
The real issue here is that Rogers has sold their network to beyond what it has the capacity to handle in this area, leaving some of us with a lot less than what we're paying for. This isn't just a time of day thing either. This is all day EVERY day because Rogers refuses to properly maintain and upgrade their network as the demand for capacity grew.
Time is ticking now, as @Bell has been putting in FTTP service as close to me as the street behind the end of the complex. If this keeps up for much longer and Rogers fails to deliver, I will have NO problem switching to #Bell #FTTP where I will actually be able to consistently get the speed that I pay for.
Why is this an acceptable practice? Why are customers continually being cheated out of what they are paying for?

It's time someone started holding Rogers accountable for the fact that no matter the carrier you are with, in many areas of Canada to this day, you are continually denied or otherwise being cheated out of what you are paying for because Rogers is #CanadasDecrepitNetwork
If they're not unstable and unreliable, they're #NotAsAdvertised and it's excuse after excuse for why they can't fix the issue. It's time for the excuses to end already.
@Teleflora I called today and although they’ve offered me 50% refund. I believe it should’ve been a full refund. This plant looked terrible at my relative’s service. It was an embarrassment.
Completely deceiving @Teleflora when you order a sympathy bouquet for $145 and they receive a lily plant in a dollar básquet. #teleflora#buyerbeware what I ordered and what they got.
@Jennife80278055@pc_optimum I agree. Made an online purchase which means you pay for the item so points should be loaded as soon as you make a purchase. Don’t have mine yet!
