@RepJayapal Thanks for speaking up about this issue. This is what’s often overlooked, legal immigration is being cut even harder. People who followed every rule are now facing delays, uncertainty, and lost opportunities. We need policies that protect and retain contributors not push them out
USCISPAUSE#LiftTheHold
"Hi, my name is [your name], and I am a constituent from [your town name and zipecode].
I’m calling to urge the Senator to take immediate action regarding a systemic 'adjudication pause' at USCIS targeting high-skilled Iranian professionals.
These are world-class researchers and doctors at our top hospitals and universities. These individuals have lived and worked in our communities for years.
DHS and the FBI have already had more than enough time to check their backgrounds; these individuals have no ties to the IRGC or the Iranian government. They are here as part of the legal, merit-based immigration system.
By freezing their work authorizations and green cards indefinitely, we are punishing the very people who are essential to our national interest and economic edge.
This is a direct loss for U.S. institutions and national interest
As a citizen, I am asking the Senator to:
1. Demand a formal explanation from DHS/USCIS about this pause.
2. Bring this issue to the Senate floor or the Judiciary Committee.
3. Coordinate with colleagues like Secretary Mullin to hold USCIS accountable.
I would like to hear the Senator’s formal response to this issue. Please let me know the best way to follow up on this request, and if there is a specific staffer handling immigration and oversight whom I should contact directly."

@marklevinshow Thank you for supporting us. Right now, many Iranians, students, researchers, and professionals, are being hit by visa holds and USCIS processing pauses, despite being here legally and fully vetted. Their lives are on hold with no timeline. #USCISpause@SecMullinDHS@SecRubio
@SenEricSchmitt Respectfully, high-skilled immigrants are not replacing workers, they are filling real skill gaps. Many of these roles require advanced training and specialization that the domestic pipeline does not fully meet. A strong economy should build local talent and retain global talent.
@AhmadRehanKhan@AmerAcadPeds This is the cost of these policies.
We’re sidelining trained, vetted physicians while facing a growing shortage, especially in underserved areas.
Delays and barriers don’t just hurt doctors, they hurt patients and entire communities.

𝗔𝗔𝗣 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗠𝗚𝘀:
The American Academy of Pediatrics (@AmerAcadPeds), along with two dozen medical organizations, is urging federal officials to remove immigration barriers for International Medical Graduates (IMGs).
Key points:
• Visa processing has been suspended for individuals from 39 countries, putting physicians at risk of losing their ability to stay and work
• Administrative delays are preventing medical students, residents, and practicing physicians from entering or remaining in the U.S.
📊 Critical stats:
• 23% of licensed physicians in the U.S. are foreign-trained
• 64% of these physicians work in underserved or shortage areas
• The U.S. physician shortage could reach up to 86,000 doctors in the next decade
⚠️ Impact:
• Residents are losing training positions tied to academic timelines
• Hospitals and communities are facing loss of care access and operational strain
• Delays are causing irreparable professional, financial, and personal harm to physicians
📌 Policy concerns:
• Proposed visa changes could impact ~17,000 J-1 physicians in training
• A new $100,000 H-1B visa fee may further restrict hiring of physicians
📢 Bottom line:
Medical groups warn that restricting IMGs will harm patients, weaken the workforce, and worsen the physician shortage, especially in underserved communities.

Terrible way to think about migration since we are getting those self-selecting for America. The migrants aren’t in control of their societies, so they leave. Also, their descendants assimilate when they get here and find out how great it is.

Be our voice. Don’t let their names be forgotten.
In the chaos of war and the ashes of homes, remember those who stayed silent so you could speak.
They left so the world could remain.
Every heartbeat of this land has come at a cost.
Be our voice because silence means the death of hope again.
@TSMERDIST Well said. This isn’t a pause—it’s people’s lives on hold.
Those who followed every rule are being pushed out by delay and silence.
This needs to be fixed.
#USCISpause#LiftTheHold
This is not a “pause.” This is a quiet collapse of thousands of lives.
Legally present students, engineers, and researchers who followed every rule, paid fees, passed background checks, are now trapped with no decisions, no timeline, no explanation.
People are losing jobs, health insurance, falling into debt, and facing homelessness. Some are being forced to leave the U.S. after years of building their lives here, not by law, but by delay and silence.
This is not enforcement. This is systemic failure. This is the U.S. pushing out its own vetted talent.
@SecMullinDHS@USCISJoe@SecRubio@realDonaldTrump@MartinHeinrich fix this now.
