Gad Saad thinks Canada is in Stage 5 of suicidal empathy because it's a country that's a collection of all the most dreadful ideas: open border policies, non-meritocracy, socialism, narcissism, laziness, & greed.
He is not optimistic about the country's future.
In recent days I was the target of a deliberate, carefully engineered #cyberattack an attempt to take over my Telegram account. The timing was no coincidence. It landed just as #Iran International .@IranIntl_En published an official warning that #IRGC-linked hackers were running an organized campaign, pushing malware through fake accounts built in the names of its own journalists. (https://t.co/Cs9vVxyGv2)
Mine wasn't an isolated case. Over the same few days I fielded several suspicious approaches including one from a person claiming to be with .@FoxNews , asking for an interview. The playbook was obvious: borrow the credibility of a real newsroom to win trust, then walk the target down a pre-planned path.
Here's how the main one unfolded. Someone messaged me politely, said they wanted to "do a story on the university dormitory (Kuy-e Daneshgah)," and offered to set up a press session with "the editor, Mr. Ramzanpour." A fixer there to hand me off to the "principal." The classic two-person setup, built to lower your guard.
To sell it, they even sent two voice notes, AI-generated to mimic "Ramzanpour's" voice. Then a second number came in under his name and warmed me up with a familiar, old-friends tone, as if we'd known each other for years.
Then the trap: a link to a "private Telegram group." Except the domain was a visual forgery a capital "I" swapped in for the lowercase "l" in telegram, so it reads as teIegram. "Join," they said, "the entry code for the session will be sent to your .@telegram." That "session entry code" was, of course, my real Telegram login code.
One technical detail worth flagging: they had tried to hide themselves and their origin server behind Cloudflare to dodge tracing the same concealment tradecraft long used by Iran-linked clusters such as #APT33, #APT34, #APT35/42, #APT39, and offshoots like #MuddyWater.
I recognized the signs. So I played along on purpose, to get them to expose their infrastructure and their link, and in the meantime I quietly began pulling their technical fingerprints.
Part of what I collected and I'm deliberately releasing only part: a freshly registered homograph domain built solely for this operation, hidden behind .@Cloudflare; and a real-time Telegram account-takeover kit engineered to capture even the two-factor (2FA) password. The rest stays with me.
I documented every step on video and have handed a complete technical file, with enough evidence, to the relevant authorities. I'm posting this not to go after the individual, but so others can recognize the pattern.
Watch for these:
1. Look-alike domains (e.g., a capital "I" in place of "l")
2. Any "session/entry code" that is actually your Telegram login code
3. AI-generated voice notes imitating someone's voice
4. The "fixer + principal" script, paired with urgency, flattery, and claims of prior acquaintance
And one golden rule: your Telegram login code is never a "meeting code." Never enter it on any page or website only in the official app. Turn on two-step verification, and verify people's identities through an independent channel.
These operations go after activists and journalists. If you get a message like this, don't click, don't hand over your code, and tell others. Recognizing the pattern is your best defense. Stay sharp, and guard your accounts.

The world’s largest inland body of water is shrinking.
Climate change is accelerating the retreat of the Caspian Sea, threatening ecosystems, livelihoods and iconic species like sturgeon.

The convention didn't happen by itself. Reaching agreement required vision & relentless work from people such as Erik Carp, Luc Hoffmann, Geoffrey Matthews, and Eskandar Firouz; the funding figures.
Recognizing those contributions matters. History doesn't make itself.
The Convention was adopted in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971 and came into force in 1975. Since then, almost 90% of UN member states, from all the world’s geographic regions, have acceded to become “Contracting Parties”.

#Urgent: Islamic Republic has executed #GholamrezaKhaniShekarabi, on charges of espionage and collaboration with Israel. He is the 10th prisoners executed on espionage charges (or collaboration with Israel) since 18 March. Iran Human Rights had warned about his scheduled execution a few days ago. #NoDeathPenalty #StopExecutionsInIran
#urgent: The Islamic Republic has executed #VahidBaniamerian and #AbolhassanMontazer, according to state media this morning.
They were arrested in December 2023 and sentenced to death in a grossly unfair trial, in November 2024 on charges of “Baghy” (armed rebellion) through alleged membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Following their arrest, both were subjected to severe torture, including mock executions, and were denied access to legal counsel.
Four of their co-defendants were executed earlier this week (30–31 March).
These executions must be condemned in the strongest terms by the international community.
The regime is intensifying its war on the Iranian people while global attention is focused on the US–Israeli war with Iran. Struggling for survival, the regime knows its main existential threat comes from the Iranian people, who don’t want a repressive, corrupt and incompetent regime and are demanding fundamental change.
Lacking legitimacy, the authorities rely on fear to maintain power, and the death penalty remains their most brutal instrument. We warn against more executions of political prisoners and protesters in the coming days and weeks. #nodeathpenalty #StopExecutionsInIran
In a side event following the 61st session of the UNHRC, we discussed the use of the death penalty as a political tool of oppression by the Islamic Republic, and the alarming risk of mass executions and further mass killings of protesters in the coming weeks #nodeathpenalty
Speaking on behalf of IHRNGO and Together Against the Death Penalty (@AssoECPM) at the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam expressed serious concern about the right to life in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Referring to the ongoing war, the mass killing of protesters in January and the rising number of executions, he warned about the alarming human rights situation.
He described prisoners as amongst the most vulnerable victims of the current war, stating: “They face not only the risk of bombardment, but also the danger of executions carried out under the shadow of war.”
At the end of his remarks, the director of IHRNGO called on all parties involved in the war to strictly adhere to international humanitarian law and urged the international community to take concrete steps to prevent further atrocities by the Islamic Republic.

The Islamic Republic’s state media have confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei. His death marks a turning point. For more than 35 years, he ruled as the undisputed leader of the Islamic Republic, holding absolute power and shaping its policies of repression. He was one of the world’s most consequential human rights violators, bearing responsibility for the loss of thousands of lives and for decades of torture, fear, and terror inflicted on the Iranian people.
Reports and images showing people expressing joy in the streets reflect the depth of the suffering his rule has caused. Seeing the victims and their families reclaim moments of hope and relief makes us hopeful as well. Yet, with his death, they are also denied the justice of seeing him held accountable in a court of law for the crimes committed under his rule. #Khamenei
@PiersUncensored@piersmorgan A nonpartisan human rights perspective on Iran would make a strong episode. If useful, I can help connect you with someone credible.
