Our father lived in Pakistan - away from us - for most of our lives. Not because he had to, but because he chose to stand up against a corrupt regime. While he wasn’t there every day as a father, Pakistan had him as a leader. He gave his country everything: hospitals, universities, and a movement for justice.
He’s been offered the chance to spend the rest of his days in comfort - going on walks or playing cricket with us in England. Instead, he chooses to remain locked away in a dark prison cell.
His sacrifice is for Pakistan.
His strength comes from its people.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Important Conversation with Legal Team and Representatives of Media at Adiala Jail, January 8, 2025
“Today marks six weeks since the November 26th Tragedy, and many of our people are still missing. These individuals disappeared from D-Chowk in Islamabad, not from some remote tribal area. The government has neither produced them in court nor taken any serious measures to recover them. This clearly reflects the government’s lack of seriousness regarding our demands and the negotiation process. We have formed a committee, led by Senior Lawyer Qazi Anwar, on the issue of missing persons.
We strongly demand a transparent and independent investigation into November 26th massacre, where live ammunition was fired on our people, martyring 14 and injuring 64. Instead of conducting investigations, the victims are being harassed. For instance, our 17-year-old worker, Anees Shehzad Satti, from Kotli Sattian, was martyred, and his grieving family was harassed to withdraw their case. This is similar to May 9th (2023) when bullets were fired at us, 16 of our people were martyred, and unarmed, peaceful citizens were labeled terrorists. The sanctity of their homes was desecrated, innocent people were unjustly imprisoned, and their lives were devastated. My residence was also vandalized. A transparent judicial commission to inquire into the tragedies of May 9th and November 26th is imperative. I will not let this matter be forgotten until the victims get justice!
My demands are legitimate and justified, but the government is not taking them seriously. I am not allowed to meet members of my party, which is my legal right. If the government does not form a judicial commission until the next meeting, we will discontinue the negotiation process.
I strongly condemn the campaign against Bushra Begum. Everything she’s doing is for my sake. Distractions like the Sangjani rumors are created to divert attention from the real issues. I commend Bushra Begum for reaching D-Square with party workers and supporters. I urge members of my party to raise the issue of our missing persons at every platform.
There was a plan to impose a ten-year dictatorship in Pakistan, of which two years have already passed. Judges or police officers who become a party to oppression are rewarded with promotions here. Judge Humayun Dilawar, who gave an illegal verdict against me was promoted, while judges from Rawalpindi and Sargodha, who gave fair decisions, were dismissed. Such actions have obliterated merit and rule of law in the country.
Economic progress in the country can never happen as long as the current fascist system is in place. Economic prosperity requires investment, which is impossible without institutions adhering to their boundaries and responsibilities as defined by the Constitution. Surging terrorism in the country is causing irreparable damage to the confidence of the investors. Tragically, those responsible for countering terrorism are using all their resources and energy to corner our party. It is time to rise above personal egos and temporary gains and focus on the decency and prosperity of the country”
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan's conversation with his lawyers and representatives of media in Adiala Jail - January 10, 2025
“Bushra Bibi is a homemaker and a modest woman who observes full veil. False and baseless cases have been filed against her solely to put pressure on me. The Al-Qadir case is part of the same campaign. Bushra Bibi was confined to a room at our Bani Gala residence for three months. She had to file a petition in the High Court requesting to be treated like a regular prisoner. She was then incarcerated in Adiala Jail for nine months under the harshest conditions, which served no purpose other than to pressure us.
Bushra Bibi has not been in contact with anyone. Any claims to the contrary are mere propaganda. Our negotiations committee is handling these matters. I strongly condemn the social media campaign against Bushra Bibi.
I categorically deny the insinuation that my release had been agreed if our march stopped at Sangjani. Controversies like the Sangjani issue have been used to deflect attention from actual issues. I fully understand the government's malicious intent. Having served as Prime Minister for three and a half years, I know exactly how they operate.
Reaching Islamabad's D-Chowk with our workers was a victory for Bushra Bibi, and I commend her for this achievement. She only followed my instructions."
@JimFergusonUK As much as I enjoyed seeing the RedWave but do I want to merge with the brothers down South?I think NOT…A 20 minute drive to get cheaper gas&shopping is pretty sweet.Canada’s got a unique culture & very different from USA. And yes we don’t like to be referred to as a melting pot
@realZalmayMK Zalmay, if I could just tag THE CORRECT imran Khan @ImranKhanPTI for future reference … you’ve always been an #Inspiration for children of migrant parents coming from that region.
The Pakistani authorities really need to release Imran Khan NOW.. 1. This is the essential first step for reconciliation, which in turn is vital for the country’s stability. Millions of Pakistanis recognize that he is in jail on trumped-up charges. This is obvious to me as well. 2. Stability, in turn, will bolster Pakistan's economy. Currently, both foreigners and Pakistanis are reluctant to invest. 3. It will help Pakistan’s relations with the United States, especially if his friend Donald Trump wins next week's elections. #Pakistan @realdonaldtrump

@MahiraKhurshid@Jemima_Khan Do you even know what kind of an International celebrity Jemima is and you’re asking her to go ON TikTok??? Secondly, you want a scandal about them??
In the last few weeks there have been serious and concerning developments regarding my sons’ father, Imran Khan’s treatment in prison. The Pakistan authorities have stopped all visits to him by his family and his lawyers. They have also postponed all court hearings. In addition to cutting off in- person visits, and in defiance of a court order, his weekly calls to his sons, Sulaiman and Kasim Khan, who are British and who live in London, were stopped on 10th September. We have received reports that the authorities have now turned off the lights and electricity in his cell and he is no longer allowed to leave his cell at any time. The jail cook has been sent on leave. He is now completely isolated, in solitary confinement, literally in the dark, with no contact with the outside world. His lawyers are concerned about his safety and well-being.
These actions come in the context of ongoing targeting of Imran’s family, as well as his party (PTI) members and supporters in an attempt to silence them and all political opposition in Pakistan. Imran’s nephew, Hassan Niazi, a civilian, has been detained in military custody since August 2023. More recently, Imran Khan’s sisters, Uzma and Aleema Khan, who have continued to speak out on his behalf, have also been arrested as they made their way peacefully to a demonstration and they are currently being held in jail, despite there being no proper or lawful basis for their imprisonment.
In June this year the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found that Imran is unlawfully and arbitrarily detained and called for his immediate release.
As a matter of urgency , we are calling for Imran Khan’s release, and for the release of his sisters and nephew as well as for his sons’ contact with their father to be re-established, so that they may have assurance first-hand that he is well and not being mistreated.
