Knowing your classroom demographics is vital to ensuring success. Educators should provide resources to ensure that the students with disabilities do not face difficulties with accessibility. #DistEd534

Rural students report that it is important that they receive the same expectations, delivery, and quality of education online as if they were in a traditional classroom. #DistEd534

Both students and educators will need to be proactive in their programs and verbalize when they are encountering issues or concerns to ensure that these barriers do not diminish their learning capabilities and impact their education. #DistEd534

Medical facilities are launching new virtual educational opportunities for their staff members to encourage continuous education. Distance education is not just for the traditional student but also for healthcare workers in general (Chiodini J. 2020). #DistEd534
How do we as nurse educators encourage students to be self-motivated in online courses? Self-directed is an approach where students learn to identify their own learning needs, determine their own goals, find sources and subjects they need, and take initiative (Kohan, et al, 2017)
How do we prevent information overload? Two metacognitive decisions can optimize your memory performance. Researchers suggest we should prioritize learning materials and to reduce the amount of information that is being listed to avoid overload (Murayama, et al, 2016) #DistEd534
@CaitlinsPostu One thing it highlights that I love is offering choices. This allows for students to feel more in control of their own learning and education #DistEd534
@TadFPostU I never heard of Kahoot before until this class. My sister is an elementary school teacher and she said they use it often! It’s great to see that many of these programs are so versatile #DistEd534
@Kaitlin54927151 During my undergrad, nothing was more stressful than having a class with just one midterm and final! I have to think it must also be challenging for the teacher. How do you determine what is all on your final if you only have two tests! #DistEd534
@DaniellaTorchia I like that this breaks it up pretty easily. These are all valid items that not only educators but the institutions should be aware of when developing any online course. #DistEd534
Excited to have joint organised our second webinar with Manipal college of nursing , India. Our service users & students will talk about online input into their education. Manipal students will talk about their covid experiences @EHU_FHSCM@BeresfordPeter#involvement
Most online programs that target students in urban areas don’t have to worry about lack of access or technology. However, students in rural locations may be at a disadvantage. Although this program is for students going to rural locations, it may highlight some items #DistEd534
I think that this could possibility used in online courses. There could be different scenarios of the hospital (ED, Med-Surg, OB, etc). Has anyone else used VR for educational purposes? #DistEd534
@Kaitlin54927151 Kaitlin, 🙋🏻♀️! I am a huge fan of getting up and moving. I work in a clinic and instead of taking a lunch, I go on a run or walk. I find that it clears my head and refreshes me. I think that many students feel the same. It’s a great way to combat computer fatigue #DistEd534
