Can't say this enough; Elon Musk's menace to democracy is intolerable. He's using the largest & most influential platform in the democratic world to stoke racial conflict and civil breakdown - in his own posts & what X promotes. Democracies can no longer ignore this.
BREAKING: Fascist rioters attempt to set fire to a hotel in #Rotherham in order to kill migrants they believe are inside.
We need to urgently build a movement to stop the far right. Join us. Were opposing them in every town and city
#FarRightThugs
So in the last 48 hrs:
- 17 year old killer confirmed not Muslim, despite twitter claiming otherwise.
- Man carrying knife at riots wasn’t Muslim, despite twitter claiming otherwise.
- Algerian boxer not trans, despite twitter claiming otherwise
Misinformation on this app has caused serious damage both online and in real life.
Elon Musk has to put a stop to this.
@hughosmond You haven’t accounted for environmental costs derived from continued use of fossil fuels.
More challenging to quantify accurately, yes, and obviously a macro question rather than micro, but estimates of societal cost of unchecked climate change dwarf policy choices such as this
@hearnimator@Mr_Andrew_Fox It’s not an estimate..?! IT’S LITERALLY AN ESTIMATE! 😂
And of course you immediately default to calling me a liar. Good stuff.
Bye now!
@hearnimator@Mr_Andrew_Fox It’s obviously illustrative - no-one’s suggesting they’ve gone out and counted all the bodies!
It’s an estimate, and they’ve set out a method to derive it which seems reasonable to me, so not really sure what your objection is (other than not liking the findings!)
@Mr_Andrew_Fox@hearnimator So on one hand we have The Lancet, the world’s most respected medical journal, making its best attempt at an scientific estimate of total direct and indirect deaths in Gaza; on the other, a guy on Twitter who spends his time “debunking” Amnesty and UN.
Who to believe..?!
@CarsonDejonge@TimKosterNL@Tribalgooner91 I can see why it was given. Dumfries sticks a leg out and doesn’t get the ball, and there’s contact. It’s a bit soft though, I accept that.
It’s not handball by Saka though, even if it hits his hand as there’s no intent. The var got that right.
