@ValentinaESL@michelleshory So many words. Instead of unifying people this will further limit access and disenfranchise people. Our diversity is an asset to be celebrated not something to be squashed.
MainStage at @istelive24 been a great first day of the conference with tons of amazing presenters and information! So many different people coming together from around the world to improve teaching and using technology in education!
The scariest thing I see is the number of people online that would fail the 8th grade reading standard RL 8.3. They love to spout what someone said about another person but forget the important second part of the standard… actions are more important than words.
Disconnecting from social media for a while. The current climate… nobody should fear for their life or fear that they will be persecuted for who they are. People ask why there is a pride month, it’s because there are still places in our nation where who you are is a crime.
@pikecoinjustice@facts1st2020@nema@120Strong@wave3news 336.990 doesn’t have an explicitly stated timeframe placed on it for when the civil penalties could be imposed. In this case it would most likely be argued that it falls under KY Revised Statute 413.120 (2)
@pikecoinjustice@nema@120Strong@wave3news If it’s a civil case then the statute is five years. Fascinating how they filed it a day before the statute ran out.. like it was politically motivated and not an attempt to redress a harm.
@Dougie20376578@Jack_Tripper_23@FixingEducation Add in the required 24 outside of work professional development hours that most teachers have to do yearly, plus the classroom prep days that happen in the summer that teachers don’t get paid for, any trainings you get voluntold to do where it is “strongly encouraged” you go to…
Guardians, please regularly update your child’s school about changes in your information and double check that your e-mail is correctly input! Also, computer systems can’t guess you go by a nickname… when you complete online forms for access you have to use the info you gave us.
The last two weeks we’ve had parents come on campus for help with accessing IC and it has been great being able to work with them to gain access to their students info. The most common problem I have seen though is their email, phone number, legal name is wrong or not up to date.
✨The beauty of #BlendedLearning is the incorporation of 📗offline & 💻online activities to enhance variety & agency for MLs who benefit from the accessibility of tech but also need student-to-student interaction.
A few new ideas from #ELL2point0:

Educators, please stop discussing “these” and “those” kids/parents. Remember they are OUR kids/ OUR kids’ families. These/those let’s us other them and create excuses for why students can’t/won’t. OUR students/families can/ will if we set clear reasonable expectations.
@piper4missouri What shocks me more is how out of date that textbook is. But then the only way most school districts receive new textbooks or textbook funds are if the funds/books are provided by special interest groups with an obvious bias.
Technology opens doors for new opportunities and celebrates student creativity!
