I spotted this online and thought it was the perfect and most succinct articulation of the benefits of a Royal College of Pharmacy.
My thanks to Samrina Bhatti @SamrinaUK for agreeing for me to reproduce it here.
Here’s why I believe supporting this move is the right step forward:
✅ Greater Professional Recognition – A Royal College aligns us with other health professions, reinforcing pharmacy’s status as an integral part of the healthcare system.
✅ Stronger Clinical Leadership – It enables us to develop, credential, and advance pharmacy professionals at all career stages, ensuring high standards of care.
✅ A Unified, Influential Voice – Pharmacy needs a powerful advocate in shaping NHS policies and influencing decision-making at national levels.
✅ Enhanced Collaboration – Bringing together key pharmacy organisations (@UKCPA, @BOPACommittee, and others) creates a more cohesive and strategic profession, benefiting both pharmacists and the public.
Now is the time to engage, discuss, and take action. I encourage @rpharms members to learn more, consider the benefits, and have your say in shaping the future of our profession.
Voting is open now.

Dr Tim Ferris signs off today. My experiences with him in the short time I've worked in NHS-E (national) have been highly pleasurable and his views are totally correct for what needs to be done to move us forwards. There is much to do but Tim paved the way for transformation.
