I honestly think the reason disability activists trigger so much disdain is because their calls for more solidarity are a fundamentally leftwing critique, and many on the left absolutely cannot handle (or even fathom) being criticized from the left.
Again, skill issue. I would not admit that I got kicked out of an organizing campaign because I didn’t have the social skills to navigate a disagreement about a movie.
I’m saddened to see some of you all engage in the 9,782nd round of discourse about “antisocial behavior on the left” as though we aren’t all living in a 4chan Thunderdome now. Get a grip people!
Also, disability activists aren’t unreasonable. But unreasonable people have existed forever, in all forms, all tendencies. They’ve been overcome or integrated. If you let a so-called “wokescold” derail your campaign or push you out of organizing, I think that’s a skill issue.
The lesbian bar story is a sad microcosm of much of modern leftist culture. All the most annoying and punitive people are given infinite social capital and anyone who holds them accountable is relentlessly harassed by their orbiters.
Grim is too fucking dim to even try to understand Bea’s argument… but it’s funny when he pretends to take these stands on behalf of the left while he spends most his day collaborating with 2 far right freaks who support things like migrant concentration camps.
@EoinHiggins_ Didn’t you share one of these also?
I genuinely think ignoring isn’t enough. There needs to be a stigma associated with this antisocial behavior.
@Marxmao1312 Thank you! I’m still around for a few more day/days.
I don’t think accomplished writers and thinkers on the left like Bea should self-censor out of fear they could be clipped by dishonest actors, especially when what they’re saying is good and correct
Since some of you are willing to take an actual enemy from the Manhattan Institute at his word, instead of @realLandsEnd here’s the portion right after he cut the video: “ Revolution is sustained by care work, networks of food distribution, medicine, transportation, shelter
It's Labor Day!
Watch my film about workers trying to carve a social life inbetween gigs.
While you're there, stick around and watch other movies & shows by workers on the only worker-owned streaming co-op, @means_tv

@alexeigannon I’m aware, but that’s over 5 years, which is still a lot less annually compared to US capex. And the point I’m making is that the difference in private sector investment vs public is precisely the marketing that’s necessary.
Yes. Also there’s a massive gap in AI spending between the US and China. And given how much private sector money is at play in the US, the industry relies on marketing of hyped claims to attract customers/investors.
@EoinHiggins_ That line is becoming increasingly absurd. You think hundreds of billions of dollars are being allocated in China and the U.S. toward this because Sam Altman is a convincing fraudster? Does that actually make sense to you?
