perhaps you remember that moment when you meant to say "stay", but instead said nothing at all. we tend to remember love with a sense of deja vu-- in old songs, familiar places; at the mouth of new love(r). where do you find the things pride caused you to lose?
“Ghosting” sucks. It’s rude, non-commital, and ugly. I get it. However, so much of this conversation seems centered on being “owed” someone’s time or an explanation, because you invested something emotionally.
i am not sorry about the parts of me that no longer exist that you still romanticize. i am not sorry about the versions of myself that expired that you still hold on to. i am only sorry that you haven’t grown since the last time you knew me. my growth owes you no apologies.
choose someone who chooses you. someone who pushes fear out of your mind. someone who teaches you without being condescending, a person who understands a relationship is about growth— not ownership. be with someone who can be taught & corrected too. you can trust your peace there
