@visegrad24 Yoon was arrested in January 2025. In February 2026, a court found him guilty of leading an insurrection and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Hahahhahahahahahahaahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah <breathe> hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha.
This is RICH.
20 years since Anna Politkovskaya was murdered.
A fearless journalist who refused to look away, even when facing threats and attempts on her life.
She refused to be silenced, continuing to speak out against corruption and abuse.
This week, we were honoured to welcome her granddaughter Anna Victoria to @Europarl_EN to remember Anna’s courage, her work and the terrible price she paid for it.
Her legacy lives on among us too, with our Brussels press room carrying her name.
We remember Anna. And we will never forget what she stood for.
🕯 On the 20th anniversary of Anna Politkovskaya’s murder, a memorial plaque was once again installed outside her home
Yabloko leader Nikolai Rybakov put up a new plaque on the journalist’s apartment building in Moscow. According to activists, previous plaques have been destroyed more than 20 times since mid-January 2026.
Residents also brought flowers and a photograph of Politkovskaya. According to RusNews, two police officers were stationed near the memorial, while a police van was also parked outside the building.
Anna Politkovskaya was shot dead on October 7, 2006 — Vladimir Putin’s birthday — in the entrance to her apartment building. The perpetrators were convicted, but the person who ordered the killing has, “mysteriously,” still never been identified.
Moderator: Do you have stock in data centers?
Michigan Republican Gov. candidate John James: Uhh... so... when you consider having mutual funds and um... when everything is disclosed, then... sure
Troy Jackson: "As late as 2024, the FBI was circling around Sen. Collins ... then when President Trump came back, his administration dismantled the investigation. Now she votes with Donald Trump 96% of the time. Look, I don't owe Donald Trump nothing."
☣️🦠Has Russia's heavy-handed response to the BSL-3 lab accident in Siberia stopped an outbreak from becoming an epidemic? Here's how an outbreak becomes an epidemic, and could potentially become a pandemic:🦠☣️
■ Gen 0, the primary case = 1st person infected.
■ note: Patient zero / index patient = first reported case, not necessarily 1st infected.
■ Person(s) directly infected by Gen 0 become Gen 1.
■ Person(s) infected by Gen 1 become Gen 2.
■ Person(s) infected by Gen 2 become Gen 3.
■ And so it goes...
This person-to-person pathway of infection is known as a transmission chain. It's why @WHO wants Russia to confirm if reports of a 2nd lab employee w/plague are true.

France successfully conducted the first-ever submarine test launch of its latest-generation M51.3 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
The nuclear-capable missile can reach Moscow in 12 minutes when fired from off the French coast
Today on @TheLeadCNN with host @CNN’s @jaketapper and panelist @AnnieJacobsen discussing the death of a Russian infectious disease lab worker and the Russian government’s response amidst unconfirmed reports it was due to the plague
The news of a suspected "plague" outbreak from Russia should be treated with the utmost seriousness, especially considering the source. COVID showed us how the lies and obstruction of authoritarian governments seeking to cover their tracks can turn a containable outbreak into a global pandemic.
Russian authorities are responding to an incident in which a suspected dangerous infection was released as a result of a laboratory accident in Siberia and a researcher died. https://t.co/ajwuglFrIZ
☣️🦠 UPDATE on pneumonic plague outbreak at the BSL-3 lab in Siberia. 🦠☣️
Russian gov't in TOTAL information control mode.
Baikalsk municipal admin warned residents NOT to travel to the area where the lab accident occurred, then deleted the info ~2 hrs later. Local REN TV deleted 5 posts about the accident. Local journalists who reported on the accident yesterday appear not to have not written any updates since.
Pneumonic plague is 100% fatal if not treated with antibiotics within the first 24 hours of symptoms. The biggest question being suppressed: have there been any more deaths from plague?
The US State Dept lists Russia as having an illegal bioweapons program, one of 2 nations (N. Korea is other). Genetic modifications / bioweapons engineering more likely done at Obolensk and Vector (in a BSL-4 lab), but this is impossible to know for certain.
I condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine this morning. Its war is dangerously reaching Moldova. 5 Russian air attack weapons, including Banderol missiles and drones, violated our airspace and exploded on our soil.
Moscow is putting lives at risk across Europe and must be stopped.
🚨Breaking. There's been a pneumonic plague outbreak at a BSL-3 lab in Siberia, Russia.🚨
"Nearly 200 People Under Observation After Irkutsk Lab Worker Dies From Plague" - Moscow Times
This is fact, and also the inciting incident in my book BIOLOGICAL WAR: A SCENARIO, which is unnerving.
Will post more as I learn more, including from Russian speaking sources🧵

🚨☣️More details on the Oct 1st pneumonic plague outbreak in Siberia, after a lab accident at a BSL-3 lab.
"FSB units began accompanying ambulances transporting people who had been in contact with [lab tech] Shipilova for medical examination," as per local news.
This is significant. FSB is Russia's domestic security and counterintelligence service, tasked w/implementing the national security of Russia." (Its predecessor was the KGB). This suggests quarantine was not voluntary.
It also means Russian authorities are treating the lab accident and plague outbreak as a national security issue, involving a lot more than routine public health.
